stock 2000 Z28 vs stock 1987 5.0
not much of a story but none the less we did multiple runs, all resulting in the ls1 prevailing which was expected. we did 2 dig runs where i got the jump both times and held on to it as i continued to pull cars on him. we ran from 30 which is my sweet spot, and ate him up. the closest race of the day was from about a 70 roll, but in the end, i still had him. The fox has drag radials, but other than that we are both stock...for now

The closest an 87 GT came was from a 70 roll? To what, 71? C'mon... those cars in stock form simply don't stand a chance against any LS1 F-body and frankly, basically any vehicle with an LS engine undehood... Seems it would do best from 0, since it had drag radials. Either way, it should be no contest... a mid 13's car vs a mid 14's car... not gonna end close with two similarly skilled drivers at the helm. Glad you had fun, but yeah... expected result.

Good kill! I had a few great runs with some stockish 5.0 fox Mustangs when I had my stock LT1 cars. It generally takes a few decent mods for them to run down an LS1 fbody though.

Are they really that bad? I picked up a 63 fairlane last year with a h/c and was supercharged. The car weighs about 2800 without me. I am probably going to race both of my cars to see where it stands.
I'm still debating of putting either a turbo on it, GN motor, or a Ls based motor.

They aren't bad at all. They just don't look great stock for stock when comparing them to the cars that are out today. That's just technology though.
The issue, in my opinion, is that they built up this awesome reputation over the years, so you get people who are just getting into cars thinking that the 5.0 fox is unbeatable, when stock they really have a mid-high 14 second car. Luckily the aftermarket exists

Looking at what he's listed, I'll guess... 11.50's with slicks should be about normal. Depends on what we don't see, of course. I'd think if one is to build a 351W for 1/4 mile duty, it will have a good set of pistons and at least a decent set of parts to go along with some really good stuff, like the heads. That one looks like it should make roughly 400rwhp w/ stock compression and good flow before and after the heads.

I dont think it quite makes that much power. Havent had it dyno tuned or taken to the track yet. It has decent pistons and what not. 10.5 compression revs to 7000 rpms. The guy who built it said prolly 380ish rwhp and high 11's with drag radials. Of course thats all speculation. I just wanted a fun street car. Its certainly no world beater. I was debating between a ws6 and my 85. Always had a soft spot for 4 eyes. Found a good deal and completely blew my budget to hell.

Formally Simplɘ Jack
This thing is NASTY, loud as **** and modded galore. I forgot the actual mods and HPs, but I'll find out again and get back to you. I seen a clip through a cellphone and nearly blew my ears off through phone speakers.

There are alot of nasty sounding cars that couldn't pull a wet noodle out of a chicken's ***. Not saying that this Mustang doesn't run...just saying.
