ls1 iroc vs 4.6 caddy and 350z nismo
First off id just like to day hey! My first post on ls1tech so I figured it outta be in the street racing section. Anyways so I met up with a couple buddies after work and one kid drives his daddy's auto 4.6 caddy. Not sure which model but its a older one, anyways I finally got my ls Iroc on the road however it has no exhaust hooked up yet so its pretty much manifolds that lead to pipes turning out and other then that its stock with a t56 pro 5.0 shifter with a short throw so and I wanted to show them what this strong old ls engine could do! Now I have barely had practicing time shifting under hard acceleration so don't be to mean! First race me and him lined up at a stock light and went off from a dig and I had him by a 2 cars til I missed third then caught it and pulled again. Second race was around a 60 roll and I punched it in fourth and he actually held me and we were almost even til we let off. I was surprised that caddy hung that well!anyways those were the only good runs we really got in as I kept missing second or third (very nervous about stick still especially with my new clutch). I hope to get alot more used to it for some more runs soon and hopefully to rape the nismo as he decided not to drive. Its funny how some kids are these days. They talked about my stock ls1 being mid to low 12s and the stock nismo being low low 12s and I just laughed a bit to myself. Anyways just thought id share and I hope to repost soon about destroying both of these cars

Wow. I'm selling my ws6 and gta to buy a nismo if it's stock low 12's. I can't believe i thought I was making the right choice
On the serious note. That caddy must of hung well for a 4.6... Sure it wasn't and 4.9? Just wondering. Practice on your shifts and make sure u can drive the hell out the LS, they love it. Haha. I'll drive the crap out of mine and I would kick *** on some cars I wouldn't even think. Good kill.... First one?

Good kill!
Back in the day's before the internet I could see why people wouldn't really know what a car should run stock, but in this day and age you can find out with 60 seconds of research.

That nismo may get u unless you figure out which gear u need to be in. May as well be racing with a piece of card board behind ur air filter. Practice ur shifting and im sure ur will beat him handily. Nice sleeper ur building there.

Well this is my first ls motor and it has open headers. It scares the crap out of me when I keep the rpms up there compared to my l98 which never even got that high. (This IS my first car) and first real stick I've driven so im still getting the hang of it. And it'll take some practice but im determined to get it down this shifting without breaking anything . Also it was the white caddy in the picture

No ****, I was thinking the same thing. I would have been in 2nd gear and pulled busses on him. I had a 4.6 Northstar in my Bonneville GXP and it was no where near LS1 territory.
Learn your car better and try again. 60-120 I bet you put at least 10+ cars on him.

My buddy used to have a 2003 350Z with bolt-ons and it always seemed to do much better from a higher speed roll than it did down low. Of course I had an A4 LT1 at the time, so everything seemed like it did better at higher speeds.
