All I got out of this is he's afraid to build an engine so he downplays the SBF...

He definitly is not scared to build a engine. For starters a deep skirt block and 6 bolt mains on the mod motor make it stronger. 4v heads of the cobra make it breathe better. You can't figure this out on your own? To be honest...it's a waste of time and money ****** with a sbf and oe parts....there pretty much junk. At least compared to newer technology.

ls7 makes me **** my pants nervous ***! leave that ls6 in there till spring! Im not down playing anything i said you cant acheive same et with stock heads block and crank, on a sbf even with a power adder because blocks split and heads lift off! NOT RELIABLE! I unlike alot of ford guys on here dont have a bias opinion or ego. And call it how it is!

Power delivery of say a boosted 408?
Not saying the mod motor is a bad thing but to say that you had to piece together 2 generations in order to make a fast mustang is dumb.
Either way forget it, I remember why I stopped reading SRK

Well if your gonna swing from ford's nuts use ford parts. The last time I checked you needed after maket crank, pistons, rods (last I checked ford never made a 408). Afr or trick flow aren't ford parts either. So in reality you don't even have a sbf anymore. You have a basterdized bunch of **** that you hope stays together. I guess it depends on what your calling fast. He wants to run low 11's or high 10's be able to drive the car anywhere and not really have to kill the car to make it leave to run the number. As far as ford motors go...that was his best choice.

I SAID "FORD DIDNT MAKE ONE". read the post. I never said you couldnt put a aftermarket block heads and crank in one to make it go fast! I said ford didnt make one. I took fords best chassis as far as weight and best platform engine and put them together. Read the whole post next time so you dont look like a dumb ***!

Your right it did, but it needed boost, atleast the new 5.0 is N/A and makes solid power.
And I don't wanna hear the arguments of thats how it came factory and it dosnt have as much displacement, change a pully and more power and blah blah. Its sad a v8 N/A engine was any kind of fight for a BOOSTED factory forged V8 engine! Period.

your 100 percent right that its sad it took boost to keep up! But it was factory equipment any way you look at it. But thats how ford answered the issue. And there is no argument about a power adder thats factory dont cry about it to me. Cry to gm because they didnt put one on from factory. They both do things differently

Ohh guess what, they did it again with the 5.0 Mustang
Agreed
Too bad that came in the Z-oh-six
Agreed, but however, they didn't
