I was just guessing, but I know for me and my place in life, an f-body is perfect. Only reason I'd personally want a C5 vette is to road race it, and i couldn't afford the costs involved with it yet. I can get the same straight line performance, and cheaper with no irs, in a f-body and still have a baby seat, and my arms and legs. lol
Please do, one of the few times ill be rooting for the mustang lol

Good question, that's why I haven't yet. Around me, I can find an E63 with good miles for mid 34-36K vs 40-45K for the V's. A stock V gets about 11/18mpg before I would tear into it too, kinda scary where it would be with a cam, bolt ons and more boost.
Still got the C6 so I'm in no real hurry-

Winter bs thread I guess is a good spot to post this.
Winter-is-bs! I take back the nice things I said about winter in some other previous thread

We had our first snow fall yesterday, and today I've already been soaked up to the knee in slush after fool-heartedly "jumping into a ditch"
lol.
I thought I'd take a shortcut to go pay my rent, and got my foot soaked in a seemingly froze over ditch. It wasn't frozen over. Then, like the idiot I apparently am today, I took the same route back and ended up wet up to the knee. What made it nice is I still had to make a trip to the liquor store. It's always great to be walking around a liquor store parking lot, with a bottle-in-a-bag and wet up to the knee, with a pulled back (from work yesterday ).
**** I'm surprised no one tossed a couple coins, or at least called the police lol.
Oh yeah car related: My trunk froze over with ice, when I opened it 90% of that ice ended up in my trunk. I left the ice in there, cursed a few times, drove home, and proceeded to "drink the whole experience away" lol. Happy December for those of us living in a winter wonderland of snow!

nah, it just seems like the more i lurk on challengertalk, the more they seem to lose reality on the capabilities of their new car. i dont include every owner, but a lot of them are thinking they own everything out there.

^^^True I guess. But I don't think I felt much different when I first got my fourth gen. Nothing too wrong with a little pride in what you ride I guess. We ALL wake up one day in one way or another lol. I like the new Dodge offerings actually and wouldn't want it to stop either way.

If certain situations play out where I don't get a C6, I'm definitely getting an 09+ V.
I still have the money for it. For some reason I just miss the "rawness" of an F-body and I have always loved the way a black 98-02 WS6 looks. Should have bought one the first time around. An F-body just seems more practical for a college student and/or recent college grad
Here is how I'm hoping the next 3-4 years will go---
1. Another internship
2. Black clean 99-02 WS6 with cash
3. Graduate
4. Buy new Tahoe LTZ as a new DD (2013 when 2014's are out) with cash
5. Buy first start house (20% down payment at least)
6. Now 1-5 are done, I have a nice 2-car garage to put the toys in and foot settled in career, buy C6
Then the issue if there is an engagement, wedding, baby, or any other potential issue has to be addressed, so I still have money tied in a safety net for that.

$30k is a lot of money. And quite frankly, I'd rather have the $30k for a down payment on a house first instead of tapping into my retirement investments for a want

It comes down to the factor of how long you plan on driving them (which I do until it dies), how much you desire the "new car" idea and you being the one who knows the maintenance on the vehicle, and affordability. We'll see what is more practical when I search again.
I am still set on C6's. I love those damn cars. Driving is loving
