In all reality... the capabilities of the 3800 platforms are far and above what they were 10-12 years ago.

And anyone who did a 3.4, intake and a PCM is ******* stupid.
A car with headers ONLY would smoke the **** out of that setup.

I ran 13.9 @ 100 with headers, rockers, intake and a tune, on the stock pulley.
Added a cam/3.2'' pulley and on all seasons right off the highway I ran high 12s.

 

With a cam/IC/tiny pulley/headers/ and a solid tune. ON TOP of a built/geared trans, I can see them pulling off low 12's and MAYBE a high 11.

But they honestly don't pull off 11's very often on M90 setups.

They aren't quite on par with LS1's, but they are respectable for what they are, so why not leave it at that?

Lol, when I first got my Regal I did a 3.4 pulley, FWI and u bend delete, logged it and found out I was seeing about 10* of KR.

M90's are ****** heat pumps.

I've met several people with 2.6-2.8" pulleys, full IC, heads, cam, built trans and don't remember them being mid 10 second cars.

Since when? Since the blower does nothing but generate heat and has no factory intercooler. After you install the intercooler you can also run a smaller pulley. Typical gains on the 3800 are 30-50whp when done right.

There's more than a couple m90 cars in the 10s.
11s is cake if you know what you're doing. The guys you were talking to likely only thought they knew what they were doing. There's a fine line.

Show me a dyno graph of just an IC making 50whp gains. Yeah when you bundle in a pulley and probably a subsequent tune you are going to see those gains, but an IC alone is not going to give that car a half second in the 1/4 and a 50whp gain.
