You probally ran a stock one. With your mods I can believe that. I have a friend with a new 5.0. We tried to get him to come out and play but that was a no go. He's not into that kind of stuff.
Hell we wanted to run the supercharged Mach that came up with the gang of Mach's to my house. He was breaking in his clutch. So we ran the fastest n/a one of the group.

Not necessarily. Gears are crucial for a 4v car to get into its useable powerband. Not so much on a pushrod V8 due to the better low-speed torque.
Of course gears will make a difference on both but just more of a difference on a 4v.

Like I said the right gears help both platforms

There was 4 of them here. This was real world results. The owner of the Mach had run a 5th gen before and said it was close. Notch might know the details of that run better. But this is what happens when both cars are driven well in a street race.

Never said It wasn't real. Results are not always the same

Well duh a converter will pickup more than gears. But most people opt for the manual over that automatic slushbox so gears is usually the first mod that goes on.

Yep. I guess we need to put in a disclaimer of " Your results may very" just to keep some of these vagina's happy.
Fact is if you run into a new Camaro SS that is well driven in a mild bolt-on Mach, your gonna see tail lights.
