In hindsight, I bet it was a **** ton of fun for you to see the new kid in the forum get all bent outta shape about something that has been beat to a pulp 19320489 times before

It is pretty funny. You weren't the first one. I may go dig up that thread just to see what was said. I just remember it being hilarious.

How dare you disrespect the Mach 1. I bet your just mad because they are so fast the dealerships wont let you test them without a special license LOL

I remember I jumped on odarabla's *** before too, about something, when I was new to the site. He's a cool dude, too, that in hindsight I'm saying D'oh! I was a little too sensitive...live and learn

AZAR-HAWKE... i swore that i read a post that someone said that it took ford ten years to build a engine worth a damn...my take from that was the termi's were ''something'' that ford built and were worth a damn...not sticking up for ford here either ...just trying to make a comment on what was said.

He said n/a... Even Coletti would have a hard time arguing with his statement.

And I guess I had that wrong, I had read somewhere that there were stock 5.0s dynoing around 400, but maybe they were rounding up.

I think my dad needs some better tires too. He's just got the PZero Neros, the lower all season brand of PZeros. If he slapped some wider PZero summers on there I think he would've launched a lot better.

When my rear diff breaks and I upgrade to a Fab 9, I'm gonna have to get him to come with me to a drag strip and try a few rounds...but I'm not going to the drags until I've upgraded my diff.

I had a blast racing him though, and I hope you guys enjoyed the story. I'm sure there will be many more to come.
The Pzero's suck. Ford has to be worse at putting the worse tires on a car there is. First they only put a 235 on the car unless you get Brembo's you get 255's that still suck as well.

But if a guy tells you he made 400whp stock in his 5.0 tell him he is retarded. Plain and simple. And if he says dyno'd in 4th you will know fo sure he is retarded. UNless he is a auto. Then he should dyno in 4th and it will still only make 360whp give or take,

Guys, I think stock for stock a 01-02 ws6 would give the 5.0 a run for its money along with all the new high tech ecu systems they have. Here's a video.

Well first the ws6 wasn't stock. Also hard to compare an auto to manual. Specially on a roll where the auto takes for ever to drop down. 95% of people here has already stated they are not close stock.

How is the 5.0 new tech..just a modular engine like Ford started putting in mustangs in the mid 90s.

Isn't the 5.0 a completely different block from the mod motors? I thought I had read in a Mustang mag that the last 5.4 in the GT500 was the last of the "mod" motors.

So it had been a long day at work, and I went to meet a few of my friends who had flown in from Cali at a local Red Robin. Found out when I got to the restaurant that my dad was there when I saw his car. A 2011 Mustang GT. The new 5.0. He's all parked in a corner, away from everyone and everything, so he is really easy to see. So I park next to him and head into the restaurant.

About 2 am we all leave and go hang around the cars. They all love American Muscle, so there instantly starts a small debate on which would win. At this point, none of my friends knew I had my Trans Am. But they knew he had his Mustang. So I stayed silent and we talked about which car would win. I'm trying to hold a smile the whole time.

We're finally about to leave the parking lot, and I got in my car. They are hella surprised as I started it up. But anyways. We all go our separate ways, and I end up next to my dad in his Mustang at a red light. I just look at him.

You can guess where this is going.

Green light. He launches. Tires don't quite catch and he does a small burnout before hooking, then he's off. I wait for my clutch to catch (because I still have the stock 10 bolt), then it's pedal to the medal for me. BAM! Into second I go, and I've pulled about half a car length ahead of him as we both shift into third. It's close. He got the gear change a bit faster then I did, so he's slowly catching back up. BAM! Into fourth. He's about 2 feet ahead of me.

It's at that point I look down at my speedometer and realize how just fast I'm going. Swearing, I hit the brakes. Dang it. He realized the same thing at about the same time, and hit the brakes too. We take it easy the rest of the way home, and laugh about it after pulling into the garage.

Not too shabby for a 123k mile car with only exhaust and smooth bellows.

I've got stickier tires now and I'll be ordering a Fab 9" before the summer. It'll be time for a rematch soon.
So you looked down at the speedo and realized you were doing about 65mph?
