What's dumb about it? You have to take all factors into account when comparing things. You're just mad because its a valid point, and boy does your fanboy *** hate when someone makes a point not in favor of a Ford product.

so you're saying that the 80's camaros were faster than the 80's mustangs?

BTW OP........that sounds like a good run......and that had your dad not been a better driver, you may well have pulled him. you've got a cool dad to be able to race him like that.

Here you go with that fanboy nonsense again. There is very little "new technology" in the new 5.0 that helps it make more power, it's just a different motor than what was used before. The LS3 isn't "new tech," it's just bigger than the LS1 and uses better parts. And I've always been one to praise the LSx motors. The new 5.0 doesn't use magic or some brand new super-technological processes to make more power than the old 4.6, just better parts and more displacement. So saying, "but it's newer technology!" is just whining. It's no different than complaining about larger displacement. If people want to race their fourth gens against newer cars, that's fine...just don't complain when you get beaten.

That WS6 only had a lid and catback, and those ghettoass bling bling rims probably negated whatever gains they offered... so I'd say it's pretty much stock. We get that you love your new 5.0 and have the need to be a Ford apologist, but give credit where it's due. I'd say LS1 4th gen vs 2011+ 5.0 GTs is definitely a driver's race with the edge to the 5.0 just as a Mach 1 and an LS1 4th gen is a driver's race with the edge going to the LS1.

I'd say that's a good comparison. I was gonna make it myself, but didn't want to start a ****-storm . It is a little different though, because with the Mach vs. 4th gen it would be pretty even from a dig till about 3rd gear, whereas with the 5.0 it would/should be more of a slower steadier pull. The gap would be about the same though, all things being equal.

All cars run different...generalizing does not mean that what is considered the norm will always be the case. When my MACH was basically stock, I raced quite a few LS1s and in some cases I won and some I lost. It usually came down to had that one "extra" mod. Regardless, they were never run away races for either side.....BTW, I owned both cars...my MACH and an 01 Z28, so I am well aware of the capabilites of both.

5 liter fox's were hitting 13's....barley, but they were......while the same era camaros were lucky to hit 14.9's.

Like I said educate yourself. No stock fox body was hitting 13's. Stock for stock they were good runs for each other depending on year....with a solid edge goin to the 350 tpi cars. The 305 5speed cars were solid runners to, just a tick behind the 350 cars. Auto vs auto and it's tpi all day.

lx's were hitting 13.9's. 14.0s for the average driver. camaros were mid/low 15's for good drivers, high 15's for average drivers.

remember...the gt's were heavy and slow. the lx was where performance was at for mustangs back ythen.

It irritates me when I see this crap. Stock foxes never ran 13's.
