Default Evangto87 (Boss 5.0) vs Beans (ZZR600)

Met up with Evan tonight to do some runs. It was in the 30s and i actually rode through a few light snow flurries on the ride home, but we had some good fun anyway.

Vid quality is mediocre, and i slapped the vid together quickly because it's 4am lol.

I got this bike sorted out about a week ago, so it was fun to take it out for a good test session to see how it stacks up.

All the info is in the vid. I think all the speeds and details are accurate, Evan feel free to correct me if you think anything is incorrect.

I feel like i got faster as we did more runs...i've only ridden this bike a few times so i was learning as i went. By the last few runs i feel like i was getting the most from the bike. Good starts, quick power-shifts and a tight tuck FTW.

Good times, Evan that's a badass Mustang!

Good stuff!!! Look like the boss was slowing the pull as speeds got higher!! Pretty damn impressive!!

Goods races, guys! Really wish I could have made it out, but it wasn't in the cards last night.

Beans, the bike looks badass in that pic. Evan, the Boss 5.0's always look badass

Also, we've found it's easiest if the guy on the bike honks it off since he can never hear them otherwise, lol.

Good runs. Have you ever run the bike at the track?

I looked online and saw them go as high as 122 stock. As low as 116-117. So my guess is rider difference? Ive ran a few 118mph cars around my group before i had the catback and we were side by side with the very slight edge going to me. Id say on the roll, it has the equivalance to a low 120s trapping vehicle. I figure im in the 119-120 range (obviously i have to drive it there)

I agree, definitely in line with your bike generally speaking. I've seen mid to high 11X traps from them in stock or near stock form depending on the rider, and they do pickup well with a few mods. But as I've said a million times before, bike trap speeds are very deceiving. It's not as simple as saying "this bike trapped 115 and this car trapped 115 so it should be an even race".

I'd definitely like to see how a clean run from 40-140 or even 150 would have gone between Beans and the Boss with the bike starting in the proper gear. It appears to me that the ZZR got out and held its ground to higher speeds than expected on the clean runs with even starts (see races 4, 5, and 6).

the 65-150 ended actually around 140. Everything else in his descriptions were accurate. After 135, i start to pull back, but thats expected. Only race where we got up there was when he let off in the second 70 roll. I tached it out at 160 in that run even after he let off.

My bike tops out @ about 155-160 would be my guess. I've seen 152-153 a couple times and it was still pulling but I don't think it would go over 160.....especially with tbe givi on it and the touring winsheild. The bike jumped out pretty good on ya. I really would not expect your boss to trapp much over 115.

as far as what it will trap.. theres only one way to find out. Ill be heading up to the track once i get my driveshaft and rear wheels/tires. I wont waist my time on street tires, and i dont wanna snap the factory shaft. Its 2 piece junk.

Very good runs OP and evangto87, I'm hoping to run a couple bikes this year. I'm not expecting wins or nothing, but always wanted to run a bike to see how well I can hang.

That sounds like the smart move. The only way to know what it's really gonna trap is to take it to the strip. The problem a lot of people don't realize is that comparing numbers from two different tracks on two different days is not always going to give you a close idea of how things will go down on the street. And trying to figure out a car's exact trap by gauging a run with a bike (or vice versa) is just a bad idea. They perform very differently in a straight line, especially when you start throwing in different gears and different starting speeds.

I'm assuming you run at NED, which is a very solid track that typically gets people good timeslips, especially in cooler weather. I wouldn't say it's an Atco or MIR, but I'd definitely rather run there than LVD on the same day if I was shooting for the best times possible. I guess we'll find out once you get your new setup on the car and take it up.
