02 ws6 vs 2013 boss

Hype because I saw 2 of them running consistent 8.4-8.5's @ 87 MPH at our local Irwindale Speedway last Thursday. Granted they were on street tires, trap speed didn't impress me. I should have recorded the runs. **DA is usually 1000~
For comparison:
My buddy's 98 Z with bolt-ons(full exhaust/tune), 3200 stall and Toyo DR ran consistent 7.8-7.9's @ 90~mph at the same track.
My bro's LS1/T56 IROC-Z (CAI, catback and tune) ran 8.1@91 mph before "grenading" the stock 10-bolt.

I'm guessing 8.0's on tires but the trap is what didn't add up to a car that traps 116+??? I guess I'll just stick to internet Boss 302's, they're a lot faster w/ incompetent drivers.

Not related to Hio but since your bringing up relations, how's your mom? Is she keeping that yellow C5 clean for our next outing?

So a few ford guys attempted to answer my question: whats the difference between the BOSS and the regular 5.0, but the answer was not very specific. Whats the HP/TQ rating difference?
They have different gears correct? any other suspension differences? Just trying to figure out how my bolt-on A4 Z28 walked a 2012 5.0 (not a boss). And now people are telling me a Boss will "butt-****" a regular 5.0 yet no1 has specifically said whats different.

thanks EvanGTO87, whats the regular 5.0 rated at?
The regular 5.0 I raced seemed to shift pretty good, but maybe he wasn't reving high enough.
The only mods i had at the time were: lid, dynomax catback, no spare/jack back seats, free mods, crappy 245 tires on stock 16's. No-where near a full-bolt on car, still had my emissions crap and stock Ls1 intake too. Still walked by him after I finally got traction.

i thought the boss was going to run away on my car in 3rd-- but they were basically a dead heat. i was pretty excited!
now for all the homos that get pissy the boss had 400 pounds worth of passengers in it and the ws6 had a lone 160 pound driver-- and no spare tire and jack either.
also forgot i have a ported TB as well.

Just yours is
**All I can say is congrats!! You beat a car you had no business beating, even with the weight difference. I guess that sums it up, Boss cars are slower than lid/catback ls1 cars. I knew it!! .
Again, it's pretty obvious what's what...but these are just my opinions, or "pre conceived notions", so I must be mistaken.

Wow arguments in a 5.0 related thread? I'm shocked. To answer an above question there is little difference between the production boss and the gt. Intake and some other things but yes the difference is crank 444hp while the 13' 5.0 like mine is 420hp crank. Now the real boss, the Laguna seca boss is a different animal. Comes with a race key that unlocks the full potential of the car. Although I doubt you'd see a real Laguna seca on a day to day basis. IMO this production "boss" is nothing special and not worth the extra pricetag. Kind of like the difference in 4th Gen camaros between ss and z28.
