Background: A kid at school has a brand-new V6 Mustang, he's a freshman (college). I wondered how he could afford it, he said he inherited money and bought it new. I thought to myself, why not buy an 03-04 Cobra or a late 90's cobra and have money left for mods? ![Icon Confused](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/icon_confused.gif)
The Kill: We were just out driving with a few other cars so we didn't really get the most organized race, it was also from around a 65 roll which kinda sucks, especially because I have to start in the bottom of third. I just waved him to go, and I chased. He pulled a half-car ahead before I hit it. We went to around 110, and I was ahead by about a car length before slowing down. We both had a passenger.
He claimed he was making 330 crank hp (to my 300), so I attribute my win to being slightly lighter and him having more powertrain loss.
I tried to race an E46 M3 after but there was too much traffic, I probably would've lost anyway

No they are 300, Mustangs are 305 stock, but look at thread title.
I also beat one of those, I think the new V6 would beat an 06 GT actually

My friend has an 11 v6 with a cai, tune, and mufflers. Car is extremely fun and quiet. Very enjoyable after coming out of a h/c ls1 for sure. Great gas milage to boot. Nice kill op.

I bet there is. If people get 1000+ hp out of GTRs, I wouldn't doubt they could get the 3.7 up near there too. I wonder if the next GT will be an Ecoboost V6? I'm not sure if people would accept anything other than a V8 though...

Good kill man. C4 LT1 love right here!
Yeah, the newer Mustang 6 bangers are impressive but there are waaay too many typical 6 cylinder owners buying them thinking they can run because they have "300 hp" lol
I've got a buddy with one, Intake/Exhaust. Wanted to race because I also am supposedly rated at "305 hp" lol I laughed and said lets please! I think he wised up and now everytime I see him the first thing I say is, "When we gonn race?" with a big grin on my face. lol

They're certainly not slow, but they only have around 273 ftlbs of torque, and our V8s have around 330. I find that to be the difference maker. There's another kid on campus with a V6 Mustang that thinks it's that fastest thing in the world, and he only has one of those dumb short-ram intakes, which I'm pretty sure actually rob power.

Those C4 vettes are no joke. Bone stock my buddies 94 went 13.7 at 104. Now it has a LE2 383 with stock 3.42 gears and went 11.0 @ 127 with slicks and skinnies at Cecil. Crazy fast car.
