I dead hook on stock suspension, no front sway and 28" Hoosier slicks.

Thou has a prepped track.

Us poor people who run on street don't have that luxury.

I'd bet money you wouldn't hook 1st or 2nd on stock suspension and slicks on an un-prepped street.

Too many results out there from people not beating 4th gen times stock to stock to claim that honestly. The 5th gen *should* win every time but I've seen too many running low 13s to bet much money on a race against a 4th gen given equal drivers.

4th gens have had 10+ years of test and tune and experience and they're much cheaper so people will abuse them. And those who want to go fast will buy and play with them.

5th gens have only been out for a couple years and 90% of owners aren't into the whole racing scene. More of a fashion statement. But get someone who can drive or just someone who knows a thing or two and they are another story. Just look on here... diet, me, rhino... all have pretty stout running cars that would surprise a lot of people.

Well to be honest a lot of pretty talented drivers have pulled amazing times out of the 5th gen already so I don't see how 10 years would make a stock 5th gen faster than they are already? I'm not calling them slow by any means.. I'm just saying a strong 4th gen has every chance of beating a 5th gen in stock form.

Once modded the 5th gen has a huge advantage really.. You can lose more weight and make more power with the 5th gen.

I'm not saying better times as in lower. I'm saying better averages. The majority of 5th gen owners don't care. On the other hand most 4th gen owners are really into going fast and the racing scene.

A 4th gen does have a chance, but you line up a LS1 vs an LS3, both drivers equal, and the LS3 5th gen will pull.

L99 is another story. That thing is a piece of junk without a tune.

I actually do hook good, ran a ta on nitrous a while back on the street, no prep on the slicks with 15 psi, dead hooked. My converter is weaksauce though as it only flashes in the 2500 range.

thats the rumor. Really only a great starting platform for NA. Not really an upgrade for any boosted applications.

This is true...I found a brand new tremec TR6060 z06 trans, OEM ZL1 forged wheels, 3:91 gear, zl1 axles, zl1 wheel bearings, mono-tube shocks, larger sway bars, zl1 twin fuel pumps, flat bottom suede steering wheel, short throw shifter wrapped in suede, and front slitter all for under $3500. How could anyone justify the 1le with everything it comes with for the ridiculous premium of $3500. Geez...some people are just stupid with money.

^I didn't mean it tbh.
I'm jealous I didn't wait for the 1LE. Then again I got my SS back in 2009.

Beautiful ******* car man.

If I wasn't so hell bent on a cts-v or z06 I'd probably pick up a 1LE for ***** and giggles.

All good. Thanks for the compliment. I got lucky and traded the ss in and came out ahead. I have kids, otherwise there would be a z06 in the garage instead of the 1le
