Finally. Cammed T/A vs. Built 1976 camaro.
Guy has been wanting a race in his 1976 camaro. Said its a built 355, th350, stall, 4.11s. Custom heads, cam, solid roller, bottom end fully forged, etc. He was on drag radials, so I figured I was gunna get destroyed but it was a fun run, so oh well. He said he's had a lot of races. Only lost to a cobra on nitrous, and a c6z by half a car. Lol.
So we race. First race, dig. No traction, I basically made a smoke show and he took off. Redo.
Second race. I feathered for traction up to about 40 then I got into it. Took till about 70 since he put a couple cars on me, but I got ahead a car or two and shut down. I didn't wanna go much over 100, was very comfortable on the road we where on.
Third race was a 20 roll. He still got a decent lead, but I reeled him in much quicker.
Fourth was a 30 roll. My car barely spun and it was a solid win
We also did a 40 roll, but the go pro didn't record. Guess I missed the button. Oh well, it was a freight train anyway.
We agreed to some more runs when I pick up drag radials. Hopefully this week.
Here's something I threw together quick.

Damn i cant even imagine how bad you would beat a C6Z if he only lost to one by half a car haha. You smashed him when you got going. Good kill. And you need some traction lol

Yea. Think I'm gunna run 315 drag radials on my 17s, and skinnys up front. Everyone hyped it up like it was really fast. Never loses. Kid was really cool, he built and restored the whole car, and it was beastly. I was pretty sure I was losing. But, as fate would have it.... Lol.

Yea can't wait for the radials. My car is gunna be so much more fun. All the races I was either spinning. or traction control stopped me 10 times. lol but he was cool, and we exchanged props. Definitely a nicely put together car.

BTW I had a '78 Camaro that looked alot like that (except mine had those stupid plastic bumper covers instead of real steal bumpers). It looks like it ran about as good as his, too. 'cept mine had a 454 and 4spd.

I wanna try 3.73s. It's definitely a good combo.

His car is clean, and he talked **** all week. Then he lost. Oh well. Win some, lose some. He beats 370z's, cobras and he gave a buddy in an lt1 m6 car a two car head start and still won. Guess he didn't realize that a cammed ls1 is not a stock lt1.... I love this car.

If that 2nd Gen were mine, I would of done a LS swap with the quickness!
Good runs, LoL even though with your limited traction, it was like giving him car lengths.
