Race him to 130. With those 5.13 gears he has a top speed of like 100MPH in third .

Nice ninja editing. Yea, Stockholm Syndrome, I'm sure that's it. Do the f body guys like it? I am not a "Mustang guy". I have owned a 93 T/A with a Vortech, fully built 98 Formy, 99 T/A, and an 02 Z/28. I love the ls platform as much as anyone here.

This is a text forum… So I don't really see a case for misunderstanding.

Let's go to the Video Tape:

Well that's odd... Most mustang guys don't care for that 'wing', when they first see it. But over time, because they see it so much… it grows on on 'em and they eventually come to love it. I think the experts call it the Stockholm Syndrome.

Now except for the occassional bracket racers down at the track, that car still hasn't been beat by a Mustang.

But I've only raced a couple of hundred examples in that time...

But in my defense, I have kept up with the times with proper maintenance, and installed a modest modification here and there where it was believed to be necessary to keep up with the fast cars. Not that that's relevant here... But it wouldn't be fair to not mention it.
Now that's what I said…

Love to have ya… anytime. And while every word is true, I'm just bustin' your ***** brother. No need to get all defensive.

If it helps my first speedy-car was a 67 GT500. Best looking production car ever built IMHO. So it's all good.

FYI, I'll be at the track Friday Night… Immokalee Regional. It'll be the second time we've had her on the measured course since the rebuild. Slicks are roached from the long stretch in between, so we'll be on the radials…

Last time out the best I could do out of the hole was mid-2s in the 60', which is more than a second off over the average 1.5x., with 1.46 being the best she's done out of the hole. And that was on a PI Vig3200. Ran mid 8s, with a passenger and the slicks, jack, tools and cooler in the back, on a slushy tranny.

So, if ya like, that would be the night to get it done. After that she's off to the tuner (working off the Mail Order PCM-for-Less tune since the last build) and we will be slappin' the squeezin's back on her.

So, well… You see how it is.

Well, that's probably fairly close, but conservative, to be sure… Now when we get there, I just drive her over into fourth… and there's plenty of room for a big end run up there.

LOL! Yessir, that's quite a haul.

I will most definitely report what comes out of it. I can hardly wait. All we have to beat, is the rain.

I hope you're talking the PI motors, the NPI 4.6s were ******* slugs. An SN95 5.0 would pull one of those all day.

This is a great read.

Literally can't think of one year where the mustang was actually faster. I mean 90s on it was all GM. Show me otherwise. Even in the early 00s GM had the NA cobra beat by several MPH and got better gas mileage. Finally then ford decided to slap a charger on the mustang after the 4th gens were discontinued.

Not really. 5.0 sn95 cars were mid 15 sec cars. My moms 95 Impala SS was faster than them.......same day same track I ran a 15.0 @ 91 in it (august heat) the 2 new 5.0's ran a 15.6 (auto) and a 15.3 (5spd). I think non pi 4.6's could muster bottom 15's.

It is a good read. It is like reading a comparison story now with the GT500 and the ZL1. The roles are reversed now. The ZL1 handles better but the GT500 is faster.

It's a **** read.....the camaro don't have the optional slp stuff. That always irritated me that they never tested a SLP car against the Mustangs.

I like how even the most basic LS1 UN-equipped car was still faster than fords biggest baddest pony car at the time.
