Default Day at the track - 70 SS Nova vs GTO

I got my Nova together and out for a brief sprint before the clutch desided to come thrue the floorboards :/

Best run of the night was a 12.70@ almost 108 with a 1.9X 60'

There was a couple goat guys there, but I never got a chance to talk to them :/ I was to busy running around watching/wrenching on the 10 other friends cars that were there lol. Im pretty sure there both memebrs here! Good looking cars, wish I could have brought mine out to play :/

Listen to that nasty driver mod on the shifts I was getting some nasty wheelhop out of it on the launch though. Not bad for a 362CI cam only sbc car

I believe this GTO was an LS2/auto with CAI and tune only

Nice run!
Great job on the 60' even with the wheel hop..
I would have liked to see your GTO run also..

BTW...what do you think caused your clutch to come apart? What make was that clutch?

You're lucky that you still have your feet.

What kind of damage did it do to your Nova?

Holes in the floor board, cut my brand new header in half, hole in the hood, cut distributer wires etc lol

That sucks, but you wasn't hurt so it's just material things that can be fixed/replaced.

I think in about another year or two I'm going to start looking for a Nova, I've always wanted one.

I ended up breaking a valve spring 1st round...

After a quick chat with Brian Tooley at BTR .... I have a NEW set on the way!!!!

Best pass out of 3 clean passes was 10.98 @ 123mph 11.7:1 AFR trying to get the new Demon 1000 Carb set up.

Hey what helmets you guys wear at krpi? Nhra rules seem to state a snell sa2005 m2005, sa2010 or m2010 are approved. I think the m stands for motorcycle, but the m helmets are alot cheaper. I dont want to be a cheap *** when it comes to saftey but i got 3 perfectly good helmets now that are snell m2000s and they are out of date apperantly, they told me after one run last year i couldnt run anymore unless i got a new helmet. So i can get a new full face m2005 thats good for a couple more years for $100. Or the new sa2010s are like $300 for full face. I only go to track once a year at most so $300 seems like a waste if $100 will work for 4 more years, then just throw it in the pile for useless helmets that have never been in a crash....
