What year was that GT500? I know the older ones have an iron block and they are heavy and truely crappy cars but the new 2013 GT500s are the best ones to get. Either way good runs and it seems like you coulda taken the chase car too IMO.

Cool deal. I have my 15x10 bigs but no littles yet. Had a nice care budget, but youngun graduating highschool and starting college this fall.. tends to take away from the car budget. some

If he has that much in upgrades, I can guarantee he has an upgraded dual fan Heat exchanger... and heat soak is almost a non issue with those.

Yea them Iron blocks suck IMO and if im not mistaking those iron blocks where 5.4 and the new Aluminum is a 5.8L? feel free to correct me if Im wrong. OhioBorn80 do you have a Forced Induction on your car? if so id say its safe to say the best Mustang to buy is the 5.0 considering how fast your is IDK could be wrong.

He has upgraded it. He runs DR's 24/7 on the stock rims. He dropped all his money on the build for engine, trans, blower. Wasnt worried about wheels.

The Iron blocks only disadvantage is the weight. They are stout.. Ford Racing actually has a build iron short block for $4k that can handle 1000hp.. and that's probably what I am going to go with. It will be 8.1:1 cr, and big boost.

The 11-12 aluminum blocks were 5.4.. mine is a 12'. The 2013 went to 5.8l, but all they did to get the extra cubes was to remove sleeves from the cylinders, and coat the pistons. There are a few other difference too though.. cams, injectors to support the bigger tvs charger etc.

The 5.0's love boost.. They make the power because of 11:1 compression vs. lower for the 5.4. But unless the bottom end is built, I have heard much over 650hp on the stock bottom end is a ticking time bomb.

Ohio, have you built your bottom end yet? how long have you been at your power level? Have you considered E85?

That would be crazy then... I am actually going to be upgrading my Heat exchanger BEFORE I even upgrade the supercharger.. it will help tremendously this summer with heat soak.. even with the stock charger.

I have a completely stock engine. Blower went on day I brought it home. I have 22k miles now. Been 650+ for about 98% of it. The car has laid down over 700whp 3 times on the race tune. Last was with the 20's on it. Put some ms109 in it that time and added 1.5 degrees of timing. Times before was just 93 but on bigs littles. I am going to drop to a 3.4 pulley and do headers. Should make around 750whp in drsg trim. Ill have race gas mixed in. Least 104 octane. Mainly for detonation issues.

There is least 6 I know that has made 700-800whp on stock bottom end. All on 93 on lower side and racegas mixed on higher side. Its all in the tune. I dont want e85 cs I cant drive it to ohio and tx. I will stick with 93 and throw some racegas in for safety. Even when I do built engine.
