Gm said the Z28 is 300lbs lighter then a ZL1. So where is everyone getting these 3500lb weights. Lol..the Z28 will be no better in the 1/4 then a ZL1. Lose a few lbs have 80hp less. It balances out.

My friends 12 SS Camaro weighed 3820 with almost a full tank of gas. I think when mags weight cars they weigh them full. So his car could lose about 100lb by just running on low gas. That would put him at 3720 on low gas. If a Z28 is 100lb lighter then it could be in the 3600lb range with low gas.

Only time people on here have a concept of weight is when it puts them at a disadvantage.

every car is weighed with a full tank of gas. So if a Z28 weighs 3800... thats going to be with a full tank. minus roughly 75lbs for gas. But they wont have a spare tire or anything like that either. AC being optional. I dont see anyone buying this car without AC.

You do? I think it will be about as quick as the ZL1... I also think it will get ROASTED on top end by the ZL1. With the likely hp and weight, I'm not convinced it's going quicker than 117mph on the 1/4.

Cool ******* story bro! No one gives a flying horse's patoot that your modded/stripped out Rustang could beat a stock, full weight camaro.

And where are you getting this ''LS3's dyno less in a camaro compared to a vette'' BS? They all dyno right around 370rwhp.
Being an *** is one thing... Being an idiot is entirely another.

I mean **** guys have traped high 120s and low 130s with 3900lb cars that make 500-550whp. Extreme bench racing here but i see it being VERY common to see the LS7 Z28 going mid 120s+ full trim/weight NA.
Bench racing? It looks more like you're just wishful thinking...

Yeah, BIG 'OL BASTARDS, like the 4.3L(V6) and the 4.8L and the 5.3L... None of which touch that "silly little 5.0" you know so much about. Not to mention the SLEW of smaller engines GM also happens to build, which happen to power the majority of their cars.

Ford WILL have to put irs to even hang with one in the corners. Solid axle is old tech.
Ford is using IRS, so that discussion is over. Besides, they used it in the Mustang all the way back to 1999... It's not really new, although the entire car is and will surely be the best offering to date.

Aside from that, the ZL1 simply IS a sick car, track or not! Don't be all upset if they go out of their way to keep it "Top Dog" in the Camaro world. Otherwise, the pricing for Z/28 will be unreal(as if it won't be anyway). It seems stupid and odd to me that GM might make the Z/28 to outperform the ZL1, all things considered.

I think GM said it will be 300 lb lighter than ZL1, which is about where the SS is. There's not all that much power GM will put into a naturally aspirated street driver. Unlike the GP, GM has to meet several gov't approvals to produce a car and still sell it to the aforementioned GP. I can't see it making more than 505hp without also causing several issues, particularly with owners of other high end GM cars.

I wasn't talking about the ''majority'' of GM's cars, you dipshit. I was talking about just the muscle cars. Are you retarded? Go back to the kiddy table, Junior.

Don't see it being 100lbs lighter then a SS. Least a Base SS.

■Reduced curb weight: The naturally aspirated Z/28 weighs 300 pounds less than the supercharged Camaro ZL1, with changes ranging from lightweight wheels to thinner rear-window glass

Z28 will be a better performer everywhere.....even in the 1/4 . Wheel/tire only cars will probably run 11.5's.....maybe faster. I look for mags to run 11's with them.
