My friends 12 SS Camaro weighed 3820 with almost a full tank of gas. I think when mags weight cars they weigh them full. So his car could lose about 100lb by just running on low gas. That would put him at 3720 on low gas. If a Z28 is 100lb lighter then it could be in the 3600lb range with low gas.

Only time people on here have a concept of weight is when it puts them at a disadvantage.

every car is weighed with a full tank of gas. So if a Z28 weighs 3800... thats going to be with a full tank. minus roughly 75lbs for gas. But they wont have a spare tire or anything like that either. AC being optional. I dont see anyone buying this car without AC.

If you were smart, you would already know the answer to that question, derp. ![Icon Lol](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/icon_lol.gif)
Cool ******* story bro! No one gives a flying horse's patoot that your modded/stripped out Rustang could beat a stock, full weight camaro.![Secret](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies3/secret2.gif)
And where are you getting this ''LS3's dyno less in a camaro compared to a vette'' BS? They all dyno right around 370rwhp.

The boss is impressive and all for the liters. What evan has done is sweet. Not many other 5.0s are cruising around doing what his car does. BUT you can't compare it, the LS7 will perform that way out of the box without weight even being an issue. 450 whp stock in a 35xx-3600 is going to **** **** up. I mean **** guys have traped high 120s and low 130s with 3900lb cars that make 500-550whp. Extreme bench racing here but i see it being VERY common to see the LS7 Z28 going mid 120s+ full trim/weight NA.

I think you guys are forgetting that the Z28 was made for the track not the strip. Main thing is this car will eat the boss and gt500 at a circuit. 1.05 Gs man putting them ponys back in place and we all thought the zl1 was a sick track car. Ford WILL have to put irs to even hang with one in the corners. Solid axle is old tech.
Aside from that, the ZL1 simply IS a sick car, track or not! Don't be all upset if they go out of their way to keep it "Top Dog" in the Camaro world. Otherwise, the pricing for Z/28 will be unreal(as if it won't be anyway). It seems stupid and odd to me that GM might make the Z/28 to outperform the ZL1, all things considered.
I think GM said it will be 300 lb lighter than ZL1, which is about where the SS is. There's not all that much power GM will put into a naturally aspirated street driver. Unlike the GP, GM has to meet several gov't approvals to produce a car and still sell it to the aforementioned GP. I can't see it making more than 505hp without also causing several issues, particularly with owners of other high end GM cars.

■Reduced curb weight: The naturally aspirated Z/28 weighs 300 pounds less than the supercharged Camaro ZL1, with changes ranging from lightweight wheels to thinner rear-window glass
