Default 600hp blown/sprayed C5 vs. 650hp supraTT 32lbs seq. tranny

Who will win? Some dude set me up with this race. Just thought I'd get some feedback first, I'll run him regardless, but just wanted to know what to expect. The vette: around 600hp with ati procharger, catback, and 75 shot of nitrous. The supra: around 650hp with twin turbos, 32lbs of boost, lots of bolt ons, and a sequential transmission. (thats all i really know about it). What are your thoughts?

Youll definitely beat him . I would say your at least 500 lbs lighter. From a dig you will absolutely rape him, from a roll it will be closer, but you should still pull him.

Damn, not the responses I expected. I thought everyone would say I would get killed. I did 170 in the vette like 2 weeks after I got it, bone stock. The dude trying to set me up with this race thinks I'm going to get killed. He wants to show me what turbo cars are all about.

You will kill him from a dig. Since hes about showing you what a turbo can do, show him what a supercharger can do.

I think you will win regardless, roll or dig. My friends frc vette with H/C around(420hp) beat a 700whp mkIII world record holder from a role. If you can drive which by reading your post I know you can.

Really .... ?

I agree go from a dig, and you should rip him apart without much of a problem. A roll will be alittle harder, but according to dontrevme (who we know is usually right on ...) you would be able to handle him with 150 less hp from a roll also ....

i dunno you said sequential tranny in the supra? Never heard of this other than in full on race cars but i'm figuring automatic. I'm good friends with quite a few supra owners and know that an auto supra with over 600 hp=LOW LOW 10 sec quarters easy.

If its a 6 spd run him from a dig and hope he can't drive. You get a few cars on him early you should be fine but i've realized that alot of supra owners like to "underquote" their cars. So I hate to say it dude but don't be surprised if he pulls you up top.

What scares me is who ever is telling you about the car is changing things. If its over 600 hp its not TT its gotta have a good size single.

The supra community is pretty tight tell me your location and the guy with the supras name and i'll see if i can get some more info off supra forums about him as i wanna see the LS1 pull out on top.

I'm guessing he meant sequential twin with a built tranny. Who says if it's over 600hp its not twin turbo? 600hp in a supra isnt comparable to 600hp in a vette. Vette = 11s with 400 horse. So vette with 600 and good suspension and tires = easy 10s. Where as 600 horse in a supra = high 11s maybe mid iwth a great driver. My vote is on the vette. Go from the dig.

If everyone is straight up with their power the Vette should take the Supra. The Vette will definitely win from a dig. A roll race should be pretty close.

I know the guy has a lot of money and just put in a sequential tranny. I don't know for sure the hp, but I'd be pretty confident saying 650, 700 max. I'm not sure about the twin turbo part, it may be a sinlge, I just thought I heard someone say it was twin. The guy lives in Asheville, or Mills River, near the asheville airport, his name is mike smith, and he owns some kind of shop.

off the wall....but a couple of questions..
1) is this guy a member of "underground racing" car club???
2) Did you have your work done on your car at MORE in Charlotte, NC???

You're sure he means sequential tranny and not sequential turbo?

.38 is a pretty damn good CD. Vettes are just about one of the most areodynamic cars on the road.

Killervette,
Did u go to Hendersonville High School? I pulled up beside you on Four Seasons in my NBM Camaro SS and u asked what exhaust I had on if that was you. Are u running that procharger and 75 shot on stock rear end? Have you done any internal work to your car?
I think I know what Supra your talking about. Its white and has a ghey *** wing on it. I drive by their shop every once in a while up in Mills River. I have no idea how fast it is though.

The trick is finding one with gearing and the right transmission and stall. 97% of the supras on the road aren't geared for a 9 second quarter. So almost every supra you run against won't be running 9s even the high horsepower ones. However if his is the 570hp supra you are talking about he might need to worry. No flame intended I personally love the cars. However I had to say something about the 600hp comment, because I know for a fact twins can break the 600 mark no problem at all.
