Camaro Z28 vs 2012 370z

Camaro Z28 vs 2012 370z Driving to a friends last night and I see a silver 370 z behind me in traffic. I've always wanted to run one seeing as I know stock for stock they are a good race for a stock ls1. We start getting out of town and the road opens up and he immediately jumps up beside me.
Doin about 45-50 I downshift to 2nd, I thought he was going to pull up and at least count or honk it off, instead he gets up beside me for a split second and then nails it. He gets a 3/4 of a car jump and I nail it spinning in 2nd for a little. I instantly stop his pull and begin to reel him in, at his back fender I slam third and keep pulling. I ran it almost to the top of 3rd but never looked at the speedo (95ish probably) and by that time I had made up the 3/4 car and put another 1 on him pulling harder as speed increased. Had to slow down due to the road curving.
Pulled up to the next light and the guy was pretty cool said the car was a '12 with a tune and CAI traps around 110 with the auto which I can believe after some research. We exchanged compliments and he wanted a dig which I said I would try but I knew was going to be a disaster.
Of course it was lol the streets here suck and either it results in a bog or a smoke show with my street tires. He launched his car with the auto perfectly with no spin and I roasted em' through the intersection. So im choosing not to count that one lol.

Nice run, man.
Just a suggestion though..
Get yourself a nice set of DR's and make them your everyday tire. Great that you pulled him on a roll but then gave up the dig race because of your tires.

Nice...
When the tire sucks, take it light on 1st out of the hole, shirt shift to two and roll him up.
Unless ya just want the smoke... Which is cool coming down from a WIN! Good work.

Lol ya I knew I was goin to spin from the dig. No matter how I launch it. Even slipping it out in 1st I can't go WOT without it fish tailing. I'd like to get a set of drs but I'm kind scared since I live up I college and I drive home every so often 200 miles. So the drs and rain kinda freak me out lol

110-113 in good conditions with full bolt ons, my friend's fbo 6-speed dyno'd 344 whp and only weighs 3200 lbs... The 7 speeds are faster then 6 speed though. There are several stock 370z's that have broken into the 12's stock, but theyre all the 7 speeds.
I looked into buying one a while back though, then realized how overpriced they all are... LOL.

I'm a stalled A4… so there is some difference, but ya just have to recognize that 1st is just for gettin' some roll goin'… It's a lot of fun too. 'Cause they always think that they've gotcha… and they very rarely ever do.
Here's a vid of a similar situation, with a 5th Gen that rolled up on me the other day. Did the same thing… pulled up along side and stomped it.
I was tryin' to get the phone up, thinkin' I had a minute and Dude just flogs it and gets a car on me instantly… But as soon as I threw the hammer we started rolling him up hard and he got out. A friend that was following me said his old lady was given him what for, so if that's true, I gotta give it to him for even going at all.

I hear ya Brother… Even with the DRs I've got to give 1st to the other guy… I just roll out slow and once she's in second, I half throttle 'til she's up around 4000 and take her on out.

I did da corrected 13.4 @ 103(13.6 uncorrected) in my 2007 g35 sedan 5 speed automatic. Which is basically a later 350z with 4 doors and 200 extra lbs.... Stock. VQ nissans Z's and G sedans can be quick.
