Just because the GT500 has a lot more power than the ZL1 doesn't mean they aren't direct competitors. Just because the '98 Z28 had 350hp and the '98 GT had 225hp doesn't mean they weren't direct competitors, it just meant the Z28 was a lot faster.

Sorry, I did not see the Z06 part, but what do you expect? It's a freaking Cadillac. Notice it's not a dedicated F body. It's the Zeta platform that was used, that was meant for sedans. No different than the Charger being cut a few inches and adapted to be the Challenger. They don't have dedicated designs specific to the model, they utilized existing platforms. The past RX8/Miata generation are the same way, include past Audi tt and Golf.

No one is comparing them except you guys. The second tier vette pretty much out does it everywhere. The only way it even remotely can compete would be acceleration. A car that was designed 7-8 yrs ago to boot. If that flatters you then you should really aim a little higher.

Once again, the ZL1 should have been aimed higher than it was. GM fucked it up, and Furd squished it before it even hit the street.

You do realize what a dyno queen rep gt500's have don't you? The only ones that even remotely live up tto the hp is the 13 Gt500. And then the only way it out does the ZL is in acceleration. That's a easy problem to solve. Much easier than getting the GT500 chassis to match the ZL.

The proof is out there.....it's been posted. And yes it outruns all previous furds but with maybe a tie for the furd gt.

Not to mention the handling improvements on the 13 Gt500. Just think how bad the ZL thrashes the other gt500 in the turns.

OMG will this argument ever stop, The new ZL1 is not faster than all previous fords and the 10- 12 model GT500's had like 550hp if im not mistaken and actually dynod close if not 500 whp as well. plus they are lighter than the current Zl1 so put real tires on those models and im sure it will be just as fast if not faster then the ZL1. Im all for GM but GM did fck up with the ZL1. Im also kinda bias because i absolutely hate ford But Ford has made a **** tone improvements over the past decade and now GM is playing catch up this time. GIVE credit where CREDIT is due!
