Now notch's ls1 did 340 whp with no headers, ory, ls6 ported intake, udp and magnaflow catback.

Seems you may be a bit generous to the 3v and stingy with the ls1.
That's why I said average and the average Fbody wasn't putting down anywhere near 320RWP stock. Most did right around 300RWP and 330 with the mods. I may have been premature with the 3V numbers, must have been generous dynos that I saw cause most put down 300RWP with the CAI/Tune/OR pipe.

3v's are capable of 12's with a tire/tune/cai/exhaust, but the majority of them run mid-high 13's. The weight again playing a factor.

Yep, those motors just flat out don't respond to cams.

Part of me would like to drop a 3V into my T-bird, but they are just too expensive for what you get.

Lol, I'll bet they do. Your car runs hard.

3v's can be fast just like anything else, but the LT1 was a much bigger motor that responded better to mods.

Only viable option for a 3V is boost. Still not scaring a serious street effort, but a fun ride nonetheless.
And still surprises the unsuspecting foe here and there, since nobody expects much out of those.

It's not hard to beat a stock 5.0. But one they get the usual "3mods" you're going to need heads and cam

first kill was a 3v mustang both fbo I put some busses on him. let him have the hit too. saw a 2v with cams fbos dyno around 330, owner was disappointed. to his credit the car sounded nice at idle and wot though

Yeah, seems like the quickest 3Vs are about on par with a 6spd LT1 WS6/SS, and the average 3V is MAYBE a scooch quicker than the average LT1.

While 330rwhp is far from impressive from a V8 with a bolt-on/cam setup, that would be a fun dig car with some gear and good rubber.

I give the the 3 valve with the optional gears a slight edge vs LT1. I think a PI car and a LT1 is a good race

I agree with this. The 3V gets wildly different times, but the average owner clicks off high 13's. Mid 13's stock is possible with a good driver. Most LT1 cars run In the 14.0 range. The 2V cars are also in the 14.0 range.

Lol @ 2v being 14.0.....more like 14.3

I've seen 2 100+k lt cars go in the 13s stock.

For the 3v vs the lt o may give the 3v a edge in et due to the m5 gearing. The roll will go to the lt. So many of furds n/a modulars just had no potential n/a with bolt ons.

There were multiple 14.0-14.2 PI gt's out there. Unless it was one of the SLP cars, ain't no damned way a 100K mile bone stock LT1 ran 13's.

2V GT trapped 98-101mph. LT1 trapped 98-102. Drivers race, pure and simple.

You keep telling yourself that cupcake. Yea.....lt's had no problem hitting 13s stock. You're want to bring up record times for the 2v. Idk what s record time for a lt is but it would have to be in the mid 13s i would think.

2vs were **** with virtually no hope of na performance. Same can really be said for the 3v.

Lt1 is faster than 2v but the last 3v's seemed a tick faster
