Too bad no one here is local... there is a tune/catback 5.0 in my parts that would beat every f body in here except hio and oda. That car would bring the sore bum holes...

It simply is fact... You think you GM guys would jump on the LS3 or LS7 train.....Well not the LS7 train to compare it to the new 5.0 not the LS1...

The 5.0 vs LS1 comparison is a good one in my eyes in one aspect.......The owners of both when they first came out thought they were simply the best thing god has given to this green earth.... We will hear about the 5.0 for the next 16 years like we still hear about how great the LS1 is.... Just the way it is and just so happens Ford took this round, Lets hope GM does something with that Fail of a Camero and makes it to where we can actually talk about a 6th gen vs a 5.0

yea.. weighed 3425 race weight and made 378whp/367wtq and went 12.4 at 116.XX with a 2.2 60 ft. Now tuned and a bit more weight out, made 400/398. Weighs 3375 now.

5.0s have the upper hand against the Ls1 fbody. Like I said if you have one that doesn't mean you will lose. Work on traction and weight. You have a big head start against them in cost. Most are afraid or can't run a power adder cause they owe money on the car or don't want to risk voiding a warranty. Stick shift ones need a clutch and trans work even at stock power levels. Instead of leaving out mods on a message board to make your self and others feel better talk to someone like Hio who na without cams and head can kill most of them.

He cant dig race at all though.. he has 0 traction. We tried going from a 45 roll numerous times. He would spin... i wouldnt. Wild woman would woop his ***.

Dumbass, yes I have a stock throttle body that's ported and an ssra.

Just because I said I was about to put it on doesn't mean I put it on. Like the stall. My rear end started going out before I had the opportunity to put it in. So I'm spending money on a built 8.8 instead of a built 4l60e(to handle a 4k stall).

I just installed br7ef's last week for nitrous, but the kit is not on the car yet.

Car did 328 whp/354 lb-ft as sits.

Live in ignorance I don't care. If you think I have a stall and nitrous to run 12.4 then that's pretty sad. If I run a low 11 second or high 10 on spray then I must have an LS3 swap too, right?

That is scooting for the mods.

I would still prefer a C/S for the looks, but it'd be nice to duplicate the looks on a cloth base model and see what the weight difference is.

his car is actually lighter then it should be and we havent determined why yet. Short of a catback and near empty tank of gas... it came in at 3300lbs even. That was before we got 50lbs out of it. The GTCS right behind it with roughly 100lbs of weight reduction came in at 3540lbs. Same scale same day

Oh then I must have a stall and nitrous to run mid 12's... Because it's "impossible" to do it without it in an auto f body.

Friend's y pipe only 6 speed traps the same in the 1/4 mile and dyno's the same as me(325/345 vs my 328/354). I ran 12.4 @ 113 with a 1.9 to his 12.7 @ 113 with a 1.9.... The ignorance coming about that this time is so unfathomable is laughable. Our track is also 1200 feet above sea level, the DA is never below 0.
