Why are you comparing deck height of a engine?..Has nothing to do with displacement...

Can you give me an example of an engine that increases it's displacement "willingly"?

It can and usually does....but not always. Deck height usually coincides with a increase or decrease in stroke.

I don't, do you? Again I ask, my bores measure 4.125, how much boost can I handle?

Sure....about any of the ls stuff will take a 4" stroke easily. It's not like you need to sleeve them. You have several bore sizes to choose from also if that's what you want. Or you can change the engine and go from a 4.8 to a 7.0. With no aftermarket needed.

I know you understand what I meant.....why be a dumbass?

Deck height coincides with how far the piston comes out of the block...which normally will raise compreesion, but not increase displacement without a stroked crank...

I don't care how much boost you can handle...But I can tell you all ls blocks are the same size except for the bore...

Not really but kinda. You're thinking more of decking the block. Which will more than likely will bring it closer to it's true deck height.

Allot of fords for instance have the same bore size. They vary the displacement via deck height and stroke.

Chevy also had a 427 tall deck motor. It was mostly used in school buses and dump trucks. Smaller bore longer stroke than a standard 427 yields a similar/same displacement.

Well yes, the taller the deck the more displacement it will have because of volume in the cylinder..but usually yields lower compression..
