Got the new cam in. The idle is terrible. I didn't think a .595" lift would be so lopey, definitely gonna need to bump the idle rpm a bit.

Yeah. Last week, I called the guy that had the engine before me and he said the pistons already had valve reliefs in them and the valve springs were good for a .6 lift. I figured what did I have to lose other than a few mpg \

The good thing is that it isn't overbore.

Assrape on Sunday that's a big cam for a 302!!

Of course it barely idles lol

Yeah that cam is How yOu get A 5.0 to have eXceptional power with E6 heads. With the high swirl that is unique to the E6s heads, the cam profile creates a vortex within the cylinder which is good for 100 hp over stock (unported). The low pressure zone on the back side of the vortex prevents detonation so you can even run total timing 10 degrees higher than the highest stock setting achievable. It's really cool, there are some youtube videos on this phenomenon.
