Okay so to sum things up I cant drive. Period. I can't 60ft and my stock clutch gets so hot that it wont let me shift, it'll keep me out of gear when I try to. So that being said the times were awful. Same with the MPH. I lost ET and trap to the 5.0 every time (it was best 2 out of 3) but we were racing for win light. I got it both times. Got PO'd about my shitty times and traps so I threw the slips out the window on the 8 freeway. I know cobro and the 5.0 guy have them. I cut a .15x RT if I remember right. 5.0 went low 8's at 88-89 with a best 60' of like 1.9x I think

 

No worries, man. You are not the only one that can't drive. I suck at it also. It is actually more difficult than most people make it out to be especially with having a manual. It takes a good amount of practice and "most" of us do not put in the time needed at the track to become proficient at it.
Just take comfort in knowing that not only did you beat him to the light on each race but that your car has the power and ability to run a good time, it will just take the driver mod to do it.

No worries man. Pencil in a better clutch, gears and intake. It'll be night And day. The stock clutch hydraulics are actually fine. You don't need to change those.

You should've been able to go threw the traps in 2nd gear i would think nick. Stock 3.42 gear and any kind if extended rpm range at all should just about do 83mph.


Anyone have a good gear calc? It seems fbody.org/gears is down.

I tried that. tapped the rev limiter ~ 50-60ft before the traps. He had axelback, cat delete, h pipe, cai and bama tune
If I sold my car I'd buy a new Fiesta ST and save money until I could afford a C5Z, and I'd do that mf'r right

Congrats dude.. and come on dont beat ur self up.. u still beat him and ur car still has alot of potential. it has a small cam, stock clutch And stock gearing.... Go with a cheap ls7 clutch and some gears, with some suspension goodies Thats thing could b night and day different

 

I wouldn't wasted the effort to spit on a ls7 clutch.
