5.br0 vs LS2 GTO

Hio tapped out lol. Plenty bolt ons for that car
Two c5s here at Ecklers are at 490 ish with new Mamo heads and Ported 102s. I think with a matching cam you will start seeing a lot more 500 rwhp fbombs. Most people including me run too small a cam and don't run all the bolt ons

Yes I know what octane is...resistance to pre-ignition..
And you run what you choose to run.. same as me. Dont fault me for that or cry because another car doesnt choose to run it. Run what you brung.
GM transmissions suck... gotcha...
We are doing just fine with your big brother ... the LS3
For starters race gas in alot of engines will slow it down. Do you know what octane and the rating means?
It's not a choice if it's not available. One could haul it ir order a drum i suppose. But the way it draws moisture i would advise against it unless you use it quickly.
Basically your hole post there is a bitch out. Go run some nitro methane poppa. After all you can run whatever you want.
Well.....since I'm blamed for saying my dyno #s are low even after saying that on a dj they would be about 430 and hopefully near 450 after some changes then i would consider 440 out of a h/c car not real great or very mild.
Darth is on a composite intake....vetteboy on a composite intake. Idk how the new msd intake will work but likely will need a different cam to take advantage of it. Same likely for the fast truck intake.

Yes octane is the rating of resistance to detonation. If one is not having a detonation issue why would you want it?

I don't worry. ...i try to help. If you are paying attention here they are worried about mine right now. They worry about hammer's to. They are worried about other peoples 500whp h/c combo. Im ok with it.

Really Hio???? Seriously? So you can run more timing on the car without detonation = more power...duh...

That means it don't go boom as easily. The higher the octane the less power in the fuel. So you have to offset that in compression and put more squize on it.

There is more btu in a gallon of diesel than gasoline .
You're gonna have to use oxygenated gas to find any real power. Now ethonal on the other hand......well.....you know

It doesn't always work like that. Remember. ....octane rating is the resistance to detonation.

Boost is a whole other world though. E85 is liquid gold for boost, although if they do not perfect a flex fuel tune for FI applications, I will probably run my car on 93 with boost.

Honest truth though is I do not FEEL a big difference at all between the E85 and 93. They say you really cant feel 10-15hp anyway. The car still feels pretty damn quick on 93 too.
