As of right now, I have five cars in need of repair and I'm the only mechanic. Everything from a radiator to an engine swap. Would I like to be building my thunderbird right now? Absolutely. Am I going to take off work to do it? Not a chance.

When I'm all caught up and can afford to fix anything that's broke, I both mod and race. You seem to think my cars are bone stock, they're not. The 98 was lid/tune/lt, I had another 98 that was cammed, and my WS6 is an LQ4.

I know exactly what these cars are capable of.
OMGZ a lid, tune and LTs?! Damn that's some serious mods you got on that beast.

Your 2v was sorry as ****, just like your ThunderTird will be.

LOL anyone can buy a roller and go fast on a good budget with the right mods.

What does that have to do with taking a new 2v down the track with $30K invested in it and running much faster than those who paid $30K for their stock 99 RAM air TA or 99 Camaro SS?

I'd like to see your average college kid run 11's in a brand new 2016 Camaro, Mustang, or Challenger today for under $30k (price of car + mods) like we were doing it back in 99 in the mustang's + mods.

Bottom line is that the new 99 mustang GT back then with $21k paid + $10k in mods were dominating the 99 Camaro SS and 99 RAM air TA's at the same price point @ $31K total spent for just the car alone and there wasn't anything that anyone could do about it. No one with a brain back then with $31K in their pocket bought those GM cars to be faster than a Ford guy with $31K in his pocket who went with the 99 GT + bolt ons.....LOL they bought them because they like the cars themselves. Just like no one bought a 99 Cobra to be faster than a 99 GT, because it wasn't any faster. Ford royal fucked up on the 99 Cobra. Guys that wanted to go fast in 99 for $30K in a new car back then were going with the GT's or the Z28's. They sure as hell weren't buying the discounted 98 GT's in 99 if they wanted to keep up LOL. I still remember the sales guy at Ford trying to talk me into a 98 GT for 18,500 when the newer, faster body style 99 GT was sitting right next to it.

Anyone can talk **** about a 281 2v by today's standards, but back then, it enabled me as a college student/40 hour per week job to have a new car and run 11's. Had I bought the new Camaro SS or RAM air TA, I would have been stuck with a stock car no where near the 11's at the same price level.
No one gives a flying **** about what you paid for a car in 1999. Just like zero people care that your 2v turd could barely run 11s with $10k in mods. I personally know someone who ran 11.8 @ 116 in his Grand Prix, with less than $2k for mods. You also sound like the biggest ******* ricer, comparing that modded piece of **** to a bone stock F body and all that "$30k" bullshit. Please quit before you give everyone on this forum Autism. By the way, an LS1 can run 11s with just exhaust, stall and tires. Not "FBO" and nitrous like what your weak *** 2v needed.

Settle down Jake, LOL! FBO and nitrous on a 2v didn't cost me $10k. I said I had $10k into the car, and not all of the mods were for "going fast." Some of us actually like to build our cars correctly so that **** doesn't break when we don't want it to and we don't have to "run up to the junkyard".

You know someone that had a Grand Prix? That's great. I've owned 2 of them myself. Fun car. Doesn't change the fact that I was running 11's and looking in my rear view at $30k stock SS's and Ram Airs with the same amount of money in them. I guess someone should have bought a $25k 99 Z28 and put tires, stall and exhaust on the car to keep up with my 2v back then..... LOL at least it would have been cheaper than the $30k SS.

Everyone in the world knows that you can add the same mods to the ls1 and be faster than the same mods on a 2v.

Everyone also knows that the ls1 had a higher sticker price than the 2v.

Anyone can go buy a 15 year old used ls1 and say they made it faster than a used 15 year old 2v at the same cost today.

Do you honestly think that a 2v responds to mods anywhere near as good as an LS1 does? An LS1 with the same mods that you had, would annihilate your car's ***** hole.

You're still trying to make it seem like your 2v was impressive. And it never was. Maybe it was mildly impressive to high school kids in 1999, but not to big dogs like myself.

A 2v running 11's by today's standards isn't impressive.

Back then I never met someone that's wasn't impressed that new SS's and Ram Air owners that spent as much as I did on our new cars were car lengths behind me. I never encountered any 99 Z28 A4's with stalls. Not my fault the ls1 stickered more than the 2v, such it being faster stock for stock was to be expected.

Are you dizzy as well as dopey, kid? Please tell me how a typical race between an LS1 F body and a stock 2v GT would go? BUSES. Again the 2v GT is not and never was impressive at all. Even in 1999 when a stock Grand Prix was a good race for a 2v GT.
