No performance shop has completely destroyed a 6g and ran an lt1 with wheels down the track with custom 30 dollar a gallon race fuel yet. The 5.0 is inferior to the lt1 NA. So it would do even better apples to apples. Not rocket science and proves nothing IMO.

So the correct answer is no, there hasn't been yet.

LT1s are definitely not gaining as well as 5.0s with simple bolt ons.

I've decided to wait as well. Need to pay off my truck and keep it. Save up and put down a bid down payment. Will only be rewarded. I'm thinking an 18 model. Hopefully has the ten speed and maybe a power bump would be nice.
I'm guessing the mustang will be better by then also so you might have a decision to make. I'm too loyal to switch for anything other than a massive difference. Even then idk if I could.

Mmmm... Possibly. Depends. When if I get one id like to see what it can do full bolt on and e85 with the stock converter at full weight. Wonder how close to tens it could get with good DA etc. I would think tens for sure with an aggressive converter.

True. Headers, tune, e85 and intake is only worth what.... 70 RWHP on an lt1?

I'm not brand loyal at all, so whenever the time comes to upgrade I'll switch to whatever is the best product available at that time. The L99 5G drew me away from GM based products the first time and the 6G is tempting me back. I just refuse to buy the first 2 model years of a car. Hence my 2013 coyote and I say 2018 in 2020 because it is well known the first 2 years are the hardest on depreciation and I am too car ADD to keep recycling vehicles every so many years at full cost and depreciation.

Loyalty to a single car company is stupid AF. You don't win as a consumer by limiting yourself to one single brand.

Dyno seems a bit happy, that's a really strong baseline.
