I think I've been over this already.

For starters any stick car is highly reliant on driver. Now i can see a hugh strung latest greatest 5.2 in a new chassis out running a 10yr old motor chassis combo.....but it's sad it's as close as it is. Besides. ...the r is a 2 seater. The z28 is a 4 seater. So not apples to apples unless you think it's ok to compare vettes to mustangs.

The 1le 6gen will likely spank the R or atleast be very very close. The new z28 will gap it. That book is already wrote with hiw strong the standard 6gen is as it's faster than the gt350 now.

Stick to stick, sis gen lost to a Gt350 with 200ish miles on it. Track apps and modes weren't even unlocked.

I agree that the Auto sis gen out performed the Gt350 by a small margin. GM peeps really need the automagic to compete. Is what it is man.

Looks pretty close to me in the vid. Gear splits/drivers gonna have a little to do with that type of racing.

The second vid the z28 on thrashed tires....that's a known fact. Like i saud....lightning lap is coming up. That will be a great comparison.

The only advantage the 6gen has is the automagic and the fact that there are a lot more of them. Every other stat GT350 has an advantage. Even GM said the 1LE is only trying to match the GT350, not the R. They're gonna need the Z/28 to touch the R. Already been said there aren't many data points for GT350 by magazines and even fewer by owners.

If they are so incomparable because the GT350R has deleted back seats (which can be added back in) then why do they run in the same IMSA class? You gonna argue with professional racing teams and pro sanctioned events? Seems like a bold move. Also, the 5gen Z/28 and R aren't even remotely close. GM needs a 6gen Z/28 to compete. Now that I wouldn't be surprised if it's faster considering they're coming late to the game. They know what the R is capable of and if they build a slower car then they can only blame themselves.

We'll see how the lightning lap goes, but they may only bring an R. Seems like most people are just focused on the R.

My team ran imsa....sanctioning bodies make all kinds of adjustments/allowances for manufactures. Our bmw m3's ran against 2 seater cars.

Last time i looked none of those imsa cars have much for interior. They are race cars.

Now....you are dead wrong in the gt350 out performing the 6gen. As a matter of fact the 6gen beats it in the figure 8 24.1 to 24.2.....they hold the same peak g of 1.00.....the gt350 out brakes the camaro by 2ft from 60mph. According to mt as where all the stats come from i speak of for consistency they even run the same et.....although that et was for the slower of the 2 camaros. The other camaro is faster.

The 1le will likely be right on par with the r or faster. The z28 will dominate the r. Just watch and see.

You can give the 5th gen Z/28 whatever excuses you want. It's still an inferior direct competitor to the GT350R.

But that's my point. Doesn't matter whether the back seats are in either car, they are direct competitors regardless. Add the seats back into the R and the 5gen still loses. Not a great argument imo.

Figure 8 being .10 off is just negligible differences. Not that it really means anything unless they were tested on the same day, same time. 997 GT3 had the same time as the GT350. Does that mean the 997 GT3 turns like a GT350? No.

GT350 also comes with pilot super sports vs the goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric 3's on the Camaro. The Goodyears have beat the super sports in braking tests all over the place. Just looking at the brake cooling tech on the GT350 shows that even with inferior tires and more weight it beats the Camaro.

GT350 also trapped 3.4 mph faster in MT's test. C&D ran the GT350 with a 12.5 @ 119. It was against the C7 which ran a 12.3 @ 119.

The 1LE will not be close to the R. Trust me, they are not adding much more than you can already get with the SS w/ magnetic ride and brembo package. If anything it might match or slightly beat the regular GT350. Just watch.
