No need to trade up. You just lose more money. Keep your car as long as you can. Just add more mods to keep up if you want to stay na. Most 6th gens are not modded so you should not have any trouble with them on the street.
I'm just going to say, that with 415 rwhp as an average stock new dyno, the new LT1 as has 475 up not 455. The boss has a TRUE 444 HP. SAE STANDARD RANDOM engine test.
Chevy thinks it's funny to lie about power.
That is why the heavier SS pulls away even with the boss revving out. It's like having a 392hemi in a lighter car.
This car in the OP isn't a BOSS. Not like it would matter much though.

Heard that. I plan on keeping my car a few more years. Currently secretly making extra principal payments on the wife's 2015 Optima EX so we'll have that paid off soon.

1. Both the 2013 Boss 302 and the 2016 Camaro SS are SAE J1349 certified.
2. GM advertises SAE ratings.
3. Ford doesn't always advertise their ratings as SAE, tested or not.
4. As history has shown, if advertising is ever misleading, GM underrates and Ford overrates. Back in 2005 when the testing standards were updated, nearly all of GM's engines increased in advertised power, while nearly everyone else in the industry, including Ford, dropped. How is this a problem for the GM camp?
5. Torque. GM has it. Ford doesn't. Displacement matters.

Would you rather a lie more like furd done in 1999?

He will have problems with 6gens. As hard as the hook and leave i can see lots of faster cars having problems with them in light to light stuff

Haven't had any trouble with 6Gs yet. Most of them I've seen locally won't take the bait. Then when my wife drives the car they rev it at her and do ricer flybys on her

The Camaro specific sae dyno sheet can be found online. It read 458 hp iirc
It also has just as much torque with an ls7 matching curve to 4500 rpm. It's not as fat anymore. The a8 is geared well and shifts fast. M6 do good on long rolls.
It is not however as strong as a 392 hemi. Those cars are just a tick behind a 6g but pulling around another 400 lbs. that motor is stout. I ran against one that was lightly modded and also watched him run all night. I only had him by about .2 and 2 mph all night.
He actually just went 11.77@116 with a bit better conditions than I had at Milan for my 11.68 run.
Car has DR. Tazer. Hellcat air box with filter pulled and one gallon of vp109 mixed with 3-4 gals of 93.

Nothing on the Camaro is first year for the most part. Even the chassis is a widened/altered ats derivative. A8 second year. Lt1 3rd year.
The a8 is also cooled more effectively than the vette. Extra coolers and better cooling in Camaro packaging. People have been tracking the a8 ss and had not many problems
You gonna give me bad mojo having to read this all the time stop it

We will for sure find out when me and my buddy are able line up his new A8 6gen. According to him so far, it feels "ok".... but he is coming from a Procharged S550 too... so I would expect it to feel very underwhelming.

He traded his MT82 S550 for a 6R80 S550.. I helped him install, uninstall, and reinstall the Procharger on both cars... His stator in the torque converter took a **** on him and took the trans out. He was able to squeeze a warranty replacement out, but was paranoid about another failure... and the deals on the 2016 6gens was too good to pass up. He got his 2SS w/ MRC, NPP etc.. fully loaded for 35k OTD.
I think he switched from a blown s550 to a 6g. I can't understand why on earth would he do that? Pop is he planning on fi on his gen 6 or he just downgrading to a na fast car??

He has mentioned wanting to Procharge the 6gen... see above poast for his reasoning. His previous car was a 2013 1LE SS.. so he is unbiased(As am I.. contrary to what some believe... may go C7 A8 route)
That's funny because my bro just got a new s550 6r80 with the rousch blower and was hinting trading me for my 6g lol. I asked him why and he had no logical reason, tbh it's he def has the wheels in my little head spinning (this was about an hour ago at the gym).

If it still has the Roush tune, he needs to dump that crap and get a Lund Racing tune... The Roush tuned cars are only running mid-ish 11s... the trans tuning SUCKS... Buddy got one and dealer paid for a Lund tune it was so bad... he ran 10.7 @ 13x(can't remember exact) with a set of radials, and catback.

Damn, very rarely do you hear about 6r80s dying. Sucks to hear for him.
And yes, it hurt me many times not picking up a 2SS for $34-35k. At the end of the day it came down to not wanting to shell out another $10-12k for a slower car and first year GM product.
