Seems like a double standard.....mine moved and didn't smoke.

You're engine wasn't faster than 11s. Neither is your 1/2 car.

Maybe if we get the stay at home ordered for 8-12 weeks, like theyve hinted towards, I can get some actual work done on my car. Lol.

Speaking of doubles, I was only driving for one out of two motors that needed a refresh. Unless you want to include Philly wrecking your LS1....

Wasn't me that did the ls1.....and it wasn't a auto. But by your standards it still ran. And needed no bottom end work. Was either of yours do to a over rev or did they just give up.

Way to blame your partner. I guess he covered all the expenses. Making it his car mostly

Anyone else been doing any wrenching or racing during this worldwide panic dance? Tried stick welding for the second time ever this weekend and learned I’m becoming a skilled grinder lol!

I can make **** stick together but boy o' boy am I awful at stick welding.

No wrenching lately here but I did paint one of my polishers for ***** lol. The whole thing used to be red like outline on handle.
Painted it gloss black, one light coat of clear, added red flake then cleared it really good.
Looks wicked in person.

So I guess it has a method of traction control that is based on G force rather than detected wheel spin? or something to that effect?

They were trying to make it spin slightly because when it hooked it would close throttle due to some of the cars torque management or some other control nanny.

Its likely hitting the ECU factory torque limits. You can't just add power on the Gen 5 stuff without addressing that or the throttle closes. The ECU is likely seeing less torque with the wheel spin.

Gm tq strategy is complicated. Just recently i found a 60sec delay in pe mode on my truck. 60sec or until 5500 rpm. Well if you know those trucks they're programmed to shift at 5200rpm stock. So that means in 100% stock form they almost never get into pe mode.

That splains why it ran 16.6 bonestock shifting it's self and 16.1 bone stock but me shifting at a more appropriate rpm. It wasn't the shift point so much as it was it went into pe mode. And now 15.5 with that **** turned off( via dragy).....and some minor mods but on 33x12.5 17 vs stock tires.

It was the same **** we seen with phils 5gen when he and poppa ran. It was why the car fell back on shifts then would recover. There are many ways to pull tq and some aren't even named tq management. And more times than not adding power only aggravates the tm more.
