Yea with no regards to Safety. Everybody these days thinks cars should magically run 9's or 8's on stock parts. At the end of the day a 3700lb + car isn't going to last long making 1000whp on stock parts trying to hook hard enough to run 8's. It's just physics...something in the drive-line or suspension is going to fail at some point. Ok so now lets Pull 4-500lbs out of the car and it could be done but how much is the car now compromised from a safety standpoint? Seeing gutted cars with air bags removed and no cage is dumb AF. It's a huge difference running 11's and 10's on stock stuff compared to gutting cars with no safety measures to run 9's or 8's. I would rather see cars built safely to handle the power and be able to protect the driver in the event a impact with the wall occurs @ 150+mph. I am not saying there is anything wrong with building a light car but do it right. I am not sure I want to risk running a SLB in the 8's either. Kick a rod running out the back door at 150mph and it will probably be the last SLB you ever run. Even then built stuff fails but at least one is making the attempt to make the car overall as safe as possible for the power it's making. That is why NHRA certification exists. The biggest issue I see is we have been desensitized as a whole on how fast running 8's and 9's actually is. If any of use ever felt an impact from that rate of acceleration it would likely change our perspective on things.
I do accident reconstruction for a living and I've seen some gnarly ****! Even with all of the safety equipment that comes stock, you really are rolling the dice at the speeds we run without additional equipment.
Yea race car for sure. I seen Pray's customer Andrew Roark went 9.1 @ 146 but I think it's a 416 A8 car. A lot heavier car tho(3450?). Still has full interior, radio, ac, OE body panels...etc.
yes its a 416, they claim its only got seats pulled and other minor weight reduction. But no actual proof.
Went to track tonight with 6th gen. Car was about 3550-3600 raceweight, just went to get some practice again banging gear since it was only 1/8th mile, but best could get was 1.8 60ft on an ET Street SS, and 7.2@102. Car still has a **** ton in it, just some practice and harder launches was only launching at 2500.
Tried a 3500 launch and it blew the tires off. Might have to switch to a bias.

I agree. This is why when these dumb bitches whine about me removing 2 air bags i tell them those airbags ain't doing **** at the speeds I'm running anyway.....not to mention they don't say **** when it's someone they like removing seats.....you know. The ones with airbags this disabling the airbag system.
Like you said all this **** breaks. These days sbe or slb can take one a long ways. It mostly comes down to the tune and not the hard parts these days. I'll trust the factory engine parts a long way. The key to making any of it live is the pcm.....well knowing the pcm is the key.

bias all day I was getting 106-108 mph out of it lol. You gonna break on the radial

i wasn't launching hard at all. Just doing some testing and getting used to the car at the track. I have no doubt its got 108 or so in the 1/8th in it with a hard launch and good 60ft

buy some rear bias for track day I wanna see what it really got
I did this on factory wheels, i'm taking hio's advice and switching to 3.90 gears. I was on the limiter in 3rd for maybe 50ft. I Only got to make 2 passes this whole year. The first pass i missed a shift.
