Notches are light. Title said 2774 on mine for a dry weight. Probably 500-600lb lighter than a iroc.

Oh yeah. I've been driving heavier cars for so long that I forgot how much fun a light one can be. It's going to be an interesting race for sure. The IROC has the power and torque advantage, but the mustang has the weight factor. I think the mustang is going to take it, but it's going to be damned close.

If the iroc is a g92 car it will beat the fox.

We raced foxes back in the day with dad's iroc. His was a 85 tpi car the 305s in those were good. The 85 had the good cam with the auto. All auto 305s after that had peanut cams and performed like poo. The foxes was a good run for it but the iroc had the edge.

It's not. The gearing is going to hurt the IROC, it has a 2.77, and I'm pretty sure the Notch has 4.10's since it's spinning 2400rpm at 65mph.

Not a g92 car then. G92 had 3.23 gears for the autos if i remember right and some other changes. But i forget exactly what they were.

Yeah, 3.23 gears and better exhaust IIRC. Basically good for an addition 10HP.

A 3.42 gear actually made all the difference in those cars. My 91 Z28 was a LB9 car. It had 3.42's, catback exhaust, throttle body airfoil (debatable whether these actually made any difference or not but I got it free and I was 17 so mods were mods) and an ed wright tune. Ran 9.1-9.3 in the 1/8th on street tires. Pretty stout car for what it was. I had a 355 L98 we built for it but my cousin ended up buying the car before I ever got it swapped. Now I have a L98 boat anchor sitting in my garage.

The third gen was neutered to make the Corvette look good. 3.42 gears, a decent exhaust, and an air filter box would have had it crapping all over the mustang. Add in a ZF6 manual to the L98 cars and it would have been one of the fastest cars of the era.

Yeah I hacked all the baffles out of my airbox and it seemed to breath quite a bit better. Wasn't a racecar by any means but it was leaps and bounds quicker than factory.

Good running car for back then.

there was a guy at my local track with a decent tpi set up back in the day. Was running high 12s and when he sprayed it that thing was down right nasty for back then. I don't remember his mods but the tpi on it looked stock. Was probably extrude honed and ported but it was nothing flashy going on there.

Crazy how times have changed. My super crew F150 4x4 runs consistent 9.5s in the 1/8th bone stock. Amazing how far we have come; makes me very excited for the future!

At the time I was just happy I could run down my buddies. A 94 GT 5.0 M5 and a 1996 Ws6 A4. Then I got my *** kicked by a turbo crx and my world fell apart.

Lol, my first car was a POS 85 Camaro, it was so whooped it would float the valves around 5k. Still loved that car though.
