Default 1999 Firebird Forumula WS6 vs. 2000 Dodge Viper GTS

Ok. Let me give you a run down.

1999 Firebird Forumula WS6 M6 (FlexyBronc on here)
80,500 miles
Hooker Long tube headers
3" True Dual Exhaust with Edelbrock Mufflers
LS1 Motorsports Lid
MTI race port stock throttle body
K&N Filter
BMR Tubular Lower Control Arms
Granatelli MAF - For Sale
Free Mods
Drag Radials
4.10 gears
Pro 5.0 shifter
G5X3 cam and patriot valve spring kit
Roll master double roller
Rapid Motorsport ported LS6 oil pump
LS1 edit

VS

2000 Dodge Viper GTS
15,000 miles
450 Horse
Stock

I was in the ws6 with my friend. We were going out to eat when we see the viper up the road. End up persuing and catching the viper at a light. The ws6 with the true duals and the cam is just camming hard, and we here a noise. Seems the Viper is revving....so...we rev a little.

Light goes green...Boom...both cars spin...hit 2nd spin a lil more both cars...at the top of 3rd about 100 mph we had a fender on the viper and were pulling slowly away from him but we had to shut down because of traffic.

Driver of the ws6 is 270-me-190
Viper driver was 170-180 with a 16 yo who was around 120-130 lbs.

Ended up talking to the viper owner (he owns a dodge dealership) later int he evening. Find out he has run a best of 12.7 at 121 mph.

The ws6 has not been to the track since the cam/td's

When we were talking with the guy in the viper...he was like yeah great run....but if we would have kept going to like 130 or so I would pulled right by you. I almost blurted out, BULL ****!!!!!!! Anyways. He said next time I will have to heat my tires up, well he only had street tires, we had drag radials, so if we would have heated them we could have launched hard.

After talking with him for a while (man in his 40's, really cool) he said he wanted to run agian sometime. He also said his son was wondering how comes the firebird beat the all mighty viper

It was one hell of an experience and race. All hail the ls1 The car is total bad *** car. Should dyno 400+ at the wheels. It is amazing!

Nice story and run. The Viper ran a best of 12.7 at 121? That's a sick trap speed for such a high ET. He needs to learn how to drive.

Rob Clark is a nice guy. I'm glad Sam got to run him rather than some stuck up Viper owner.

He owns the Chrysler/Jeep dealer, not Dodge though

ha all, im the owner of the formula. I would have to say it was my best run to date, first on with the cam and everything. Ya he was making some excuses at first about heating his tires ( street tires) i just replyed sure ill heat mine up to (Nitto DR's). I think if i were to race him from a 40 or 50 role he will pull me. But either way a viper owner has more respect for firechicken as he called it. cant wait to race him again.

Only problem with that is there is no modded vipers, anything for that matter except for ricers around State College, PA.

Wish we could say that. We have no less than 4 Vipers around Charlotte making north of 800 rwhp. A competetive shop near to ours puts them together. But we got an 03 Viper coming in next month, getting the first Paxton Novi 2000 kit for those cars in NC. Hoping for 700 rwhp, per customer request. I look forward to picking on some of the stock ones when i get my longtubes and NX wet kit on next week.

Yup, no one has anything fast around here. I think our little "clique" are the only people who really mod their cars and put it to use in our area.

Yup, we have nothing cool like that here. The only good thing about that is we're the top dogs with the reputation as the ones to beat around here How lame is that?

Ya stock 10 bolt with richmond gears. They are a little noise but everyone says they are the noisest ones out there but are just a little bit stronger. Only problem is that its my second set first set i didnt break in, then drove the car 50 miles, drag raced, then they were so load i couldnt hear the monsoon. So this set i broke in and im going to take to the track as soon as i can to get some numbers.
