Default 1st race with the F13 installed

There was a GT at the gas station when I pulled in. It had boyds and a kit on it. I just pulled in and ignored it because it thought it was a more show than go car.

So im pumping my gas and he finishes up and Revs as hes passing me on his way out. He then lights them up outta the station as he makes a right and comes to a left turn light a few meters down from the station.

I immediatly stop pumping, jump in my car and hang the rearend out loose through 2nd as I come up the the outside turn lane right next to him. I look over and give him a knod He acknowleded.

Dual left turn lane, Light turns green and we both leave the light cautiously as we are right next to each other in 1st. Halfway around the turn he NAILS it. Im lke **** and gun mine as Im deep in my powerband in 1st and the tires liquify as my *** slides completly out to the right, I shift to 2nd wa sstill spinning all the way through 2nd.

My nose is at his door at this point and I hit 3rd and barked the Nittos and put and instant car 1/2 on him. This is my first race since the Cam install and Lemme tell ya, I FELT the cam this time (and its still running WAY rich)! It was sick feeling. I pulled to 6500ish and let off as he was waaaaaaay behind me at that point.

Only issue is now I think I hear a little knock in the lower end

I just came home and parked her in the garage. I was too sad to really listen. Ill check tomorrow................

Im not happy to say the least but Hey, At least I got 1 cool race outta it and if its knocking then its time to go Forged w/ 13 lbs anyway..........

Any of you go to 6500 on a stock bottom end?

I have tons of miles with 6600.. 6500 should be no problem for a long time. I'm taking mine to 7k now with rodbolts.

Peace,
Josh

Yes, but watch it. I heard a story about the same thing and the the rod bearings went. Hope this is not the case for you, but it sounds similar

Good kill, by the way, those HP Evo's look awesome on you car. I love the combo of your pewter SS with those wheels.

you should safely spin that cam to 6500 rpms... have your rev limiter set around 6900...

what springs are you using and have you had the car dynoed yet?

Yeah, I had my limiter set to 6800 and my reptor shift light to 6500. I havent however had it tunned yet. I have edit and EFI-Live but just need to take the time to learn it a bit better. Im running WAY rich right not @ 11.7:1. I think theres more HP Left in the tune than running the cam as is. Hopefully!

I was going to go to the track tomorrow jsut to se what it does anyway,

Im not sure about that knock. hopefully I was imagining things.
