Default 408 beats heavily modded Supra

So , I just finished my 408 and I have about 100 miles on it. I just got through stomping an M3 and was looking for some competition. But there is no one in site. When all of a sudden at a light there is a bright yellow supra with a with body kit. It looks mean, but just looks right, wrong. I rack off the 408 and he turns around and racks it off. Then I hear his big turbo spool up and then the blow off valve. Now I am thinking oh ****, I am going to get my butt handed to me on the second race. So i tell him follow me, well by now he and I have gathered a little bit of attention and about 10 cars and about 20 crotch rockets are following us. So we pull into the station and talk a minute about how we are going to run. At first from a stop and then from a 20, then a 30, and finally a 40. So we start off and he gets a jump on me( I can not get any traction ) and I am starting to pull and we are right next to each other and hit second and throw rocks on him. So he backs off.( it just got out of the paint shop that evening) So now we race with a lane between usand I levae with less rpm and we are even I hit second a nd pull a fender, then third and pull him back to my rear bumper., and finally fourth and he was back at my rear quarter. All of the rest of the races with him were about the same. Come to find out he was running a t-78 and he says he dynoed at 520 rwhp. I thought i was only putting down close to 480rwhp. Don't know. But the turbo was menacing and loud as hell.

That sounds like a good race to me. Our cars are pretty heavy, and so are those. I'm sure he was pretty surprised as not too many cars on the road could have taken him. There's always someone out there...

Nice kill.

wow nice job. also remember supras are dyno queens 500+ h.p. does not do that much once you add about a 200lb body kit on the car and low profile tires with no sidewalls that can't hook. It only matters what your/his e.t. is. I will leave you with that piece of wisdom.

Not to mention that those numbers don't come until a narrow band in the upper RPM range because they don't move enough exhaust to spool up fast enough. I remember watching a video of a guy bogging off the line in a Supra, and it went so very slow for the first 60' or so, then looked like a freight train hit it in the *** once the turbo finally spooled.

There is a supra here that puts down like 600+rwhp. However, he doesnt even match a stock LT1 until about 4500rpms

Nice kill with the supra! If he had some more power than he wouldnt have to worry about rocks hitting his car 408's are all about the rocks, just a little something to remember us by!

Most likely he was on stock fuel. The t78 it rated around 750hp, therefore he didn't use it to its fullest. Nice kill by the way.
