Default LT1 vs. Viper

To start, my g/f's dad has a 95 RT-10 Viper with cat-back. I'm in the process of a h/c and rasied compression in my 94 M6, it should put down 375 rwhp because the cam isn't to big. I was wondering, would it be possible for a 375 rwhp f-body to beat his viper? He's on street tires and i'll be on nitto, so i know i'll have a better change from a dig. Could i hold him off in the 1/4 and what do yall think would happen from a roll saying driver's are about equal in skill? Thanks

The early ones werent that fast. A well running bolt on LT1 could run with one that was stock. Him being on street tires though, doubt he would hook and if you can hook you should get him.

I raced a stock rt-10 all I had at the time was stall lid and cat back. I pulled up next to one at a light and I hooked up fine and he was spining and still pulled 2-3 cars on me.

In my experience vipers hook up pretty damn good. They have 315s or something on the back stock and plenty of torque. The first gen vipers ive seen run in the 12s at the track. And they can duplicate that pretty well on the street. Get some DR if you want to have a chance. But just cause your will prolly loose doesnt mean you shouldnt race him. Who cares if you loose to a viper...its a VIPER!

Like they say, anything can happen in a streetrace. You got a decent chance if you are putting out 375 to the wheels.

I think you have a VERY good chance, i dont really see any of them trapping more than 110-111mph. You should be well above that with heads and cam. I would think you should be good for 114-116mph. I'll give the nod to you.

Plz read the story before being a dick. And if you would like to come to the track i run at and try to get traction in 30 degree weather on bald street tires good luck.

It seems like this went both ways, When spring comes around i'm planning on going down to bristol with him. I'll post the slip and try to get a video.

The early RT/10's were slow, as in low 13's/high 12's slow with a trapspeed around 110. The end result of the race would be dependant on more things than power, but I'd say youd have the advantage with a good H/C setup.

I agree, I think he can take him with a good set of heads and a cam. He's going to leave that viper stock? I wouldn't bet on it.
