Well, here's the deal. On my way to work this morning, I pull up next to a nice red vette with chrome rims. I was a little scared, but I said what the hell. I looked over, and it was an old guy, so I wasn't sure if he wanted to race. So, when the light turned green, I just pushed it out in front of him a little to see what he would do. Sure enough, he wasn't going to let an F-body leave the light faster, so he got on it and jumped in front of me. Then it was on. I floored it, and surprisingly, I caught him pretty quick. I had a nose on him until about 90 miles an hour, then we had to slow down.

Do you think I should have beat him. I mean, my best is a 13.6 at the track (Stock A4), and I've seen the vettes with A4's run 13.2's stock. Maybe he wasn't giving it all he had, or maybe my car was running really well this morning. Anyway, I beat him, so now I can say that I've beat a C5.

 

I've seen A4 C5's run high 12's low 13's stock. They are definitely beatable at the track. I've beaten a few. I only run 13.0's for now. I have a NX 100 shot wet kit in the garage though. dude what the hells wrong with you f body guys i have a 00 C5 i raced <img border="0" alt="[Z06 Corvette]" title="" src="graemlins/z06.gif" /> my friends 99 ws6 just for fun i beat him bad at the track, he has a m6 i have a a4 315 gears, both are stock he had some free mods and exhaust he bragged how he was going to kill me, we raced 3 times at the track and i ripped his head off. hes so pissed all he wants to do is beat vettes, now hes going in debt just to beat me, i have no problem with f body guys i race f body and c5s for fun but you guys take it to personal if you loose to a vette, we are all in the same ls1 family we need to go after all that horse meat thats out threre, plenty of stangs for everyone. mustang guys are all cocky and conceited with that new 03 svt.those guys all stick together and so sould we.

Hes just comparing himself to the c5 he raced to show that they can be beaten. It was a friendly thing..its true we are all in the sam e family
Really, go to a mustang forum and you will see posts like this that are titled like " Blown GT kills '03 cobra". Or "owned '03 cobra". Sure the mustang guys know its just for fun and they don't care b/c they like to compete within them selves anyway just like some camaro's and vette's do.

Ive got an a4 too and as I recall I once went head to head with a 2000 corvette convertible with a M6 and we were head to head and then he bgan to pull away gradually as the speed increased to over 100

 

I have a 99 trans am with 3.23's,lid, and K&N. I pulled like 4 cars on a 00 convertible c5 vette...to around 120. I thought they were suppose to pull hard top end?

When I had my 2000 C5 coupe(A4), I never had problems with stock F-bodies. Kinda like BLK Y2K guy said up top there, it really wasn't close. But if you jump a guy with an MN6(M12) and he isn't in the right gear at that exact moment, you win.....simple as that.

 

I've raced 2 vette's. A 99 m6 and a 2002 a4 convertable. At the time I had a few bolt ons. The m6 was stock and the guy got beat by a 2001 gt that night too, he couldn't drive. I liked the 2002 convertable race the best though. This knucklehead revs on me. He turns of onto a side street, I follow and we gun in from first gear. I hit second right next to him and pulled him 2 cars to the top of second. At the time I raced him I had all the bolt ons and ls1edit. When i looked in my rear view mirror he was turning around. I wish I had A video of it because I scratched the tires hard going into 2nd and the *** slid out a little bit. I know he heard the mufflex and long tubes! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

 

I tend to find a lot of these kill stories about beating vettes seems to have these old geezer drivers. That tends to be the case 75% of the time. These gray hair farts that drive vettes dont know anything about there car much less any one else's car. They definetly dont push there car to the limit. I'm sure that dont even know what 100mph feels like. I congradulate all kills. Even if they bow out. But please stop blaming the vette for being slow when these chumps are driving. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
