Default Caddy vs Trans Am

One of the guys at my school told everyone at school that one of the teachers 00 sts caddys would out run my 99 trans am with 3.23's,lid,K&N, and ram air. I know it wont out run my car but I was wondering what year was the fast caddy of any model(sts, deville, seville, allante.etc)He said he was going to bring his grandmas car down from where she lives to shown everyone so i told him to bring it on. What would I prolly be able to give a 00 sts caddy prolly?

I'm not quite sure what you were asking in that last sentance, but you will have fun embarassing him. Even if you drive like my sister you will be able to make him look bad, very very bad.

In the last sentence I was saying how many car lengths would I be safe in giving him, because like you said whatever caddy he brings I will kill.

Those Seville STS Caddys are nice, but they sure aren't fast. Sure, they're fast for a Cadillac, but I'd say you would be PERFECTLY safe giving him two cars.

He's so damn confident that this caddy will smoke you, run him heads up for some $$. My guess is you would be at least 5 cars ahead of him.

Either he's confident because he has something under the hood that u don't know about or he's just stupid.

Own him

It hasnt got anything waiting for me. The car is his grandmas he said he was going to bring down from her house! I told him whenever where ever becuase theres no way in hell im going to loose! This is the guy at the school whos into cars but cant affoard one so hes jealous and tries to dog everyone elses rides, makes up stuff hes done is his car/truck, and stuff other cars have done. He tried to tell me that a stock 94 cobra caught 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,and 5th! Yall all know that guy at every school. What do you guys think a newer model like 00 and up sts caddy would run in the 1/4?

Low 14's and maybe a high 13. I had a 98 STS. Front wheel drive sucks. Northstar with about 300 ponies. Should trap around 100. In the 1/4 you should win by 5 to 6 cars. You just cant beat the STS at 70 on the highway, like being in a lazyboy and jamming to a awesome stereo.

He will probally screw up his grandmas car.

GL and I will be the first to say Good Kill!

You really think they could pull off a 13.**? I would have thought they could pull mid 14's. If he doesnt puss out ill let you guys know what happens when he brings it. Also 02 gt 5 speed.....what do you think with the mods I listed in the 1st post. And be reasonable...some guys wont give a mustang any credit...they arent that slow.

They run mid to high 14's. I had a 98 and it was fast 0-30. Get really good traction from the FWD. The trannys shift really soft so after 1st gear you will pull good. They have a ver good first gear. I would say may SS and caddy would tie till 20mph. As for the GT they can run high 13's stock. Lightly mods in the mid 13's. They run pretty good. The thing to remember here is the faster you go the more you will pull. From stoplight to stoplight they will hold their own. After 70 or on the highway the LS1 will crush them.

You can see my mods in my sig, and I run cosistant 12.9-13.0 at around 108 on very bald goodyear F1's so you should be close, it is kind of a wide range with alot of factors to consider but it mostly comes down to not what your car can run but what you can drive your car to......is your car an A4 or an M6?

Its an a4. I havent really run my car yet . I have to come off the line rather easily but I also have my tires at like 40ps1 right now. What would be a reommened pressure to get my tires to and where to lauch from? Also how much should I goose it off the line. I normal lauch off of idle with about a half throttle punch which hooks ook but I am worred im not coming off the line hard enough. I dont get any wheel spin when doing this but I still feel im not coming off hard enough. How much wheel spin is ok>

I played with a new caddy a few months ago in my old 97' LT1 Formula A4. It was a Deville with full pimp trim. The driver was young so it was probably his parents. He nailed it at about 45 so I eased into it to kick it down out of overdrive to stay even and looked over to see him grinning. I floored it and the tranny kicked down to second to put three cars on him up to about 75. They aint that fast.

If you race from a dead stop...you want to hold down on your brake and give a little throttle to lift the rear end a little. Some wheelspin at this time is okay, just don't do this for more than five or so seconds. When you get the green light(or whatever to start the race) let off the brake quickly and floor it at the same time and you should launch hard with the tires squealing but not fogging up in smoke. Practice this a few times and you will get the feel of it.

Spot the Caddy two lengths just for kicks.

When you said I need to come off the line and floor it when i let off the brake were you saying to really floor it becuase when i turn off the tcs on my car and floor it ill leave 2 black marks 40 feet long easy. I know I dont need to do this so how much wheel spin off the line is too much is what I am really trying to say.

If your car smokes em' that bad, let off the brake to get a little momentum and then floor it. Also, 40psi will not enhance traction to say the least. I say just nail it if you race the Caddy and put on a tire smokin show. You will still beat the crap out of him.
