Can I beat this M3?
My friend has a bmw M3 and he wont shut up about it and so I want to shut him up! He has a 99 M3, completely stock and I have a lightened 94 Z28 6 speed with ASP pulley, K&N cold air kit, spec stage 2 with aluminum flywheel, alum. driveshaft, air foil, pro 5.0,vortech elbow, weld draglites w/skinnies, and no a/c or heater. Mine probably weighs around 3150 I would think. So should I win or should i wait to get more mods? I really want to race him but hes so cocky I dont want to lose. Also, hes not the best driver but his is an auto. Thanks!

Actually it'll be an easy race from a roll: even easier from a dig. '93-'99 M3's were only like mid-14 second cars with the 5 speeds, and they didn't really have much top end like a lot of people think they do.
Not only with him being stock, but ESPECIALLY having the auto, you need to put money on this race since he's so damn cocky about it. It'll be an embarassment for him no matter which way the race is ran.
One thing: do NOT toy around and let him catch up!!! Too often does this happen, and it gives the loser that much more to be cocky about... "Dude I was totally pullin' on you. I've got mad top end and woulda passed you if we kept goin'." - That kinda ****, ya know what I mean? Just waste his dumb ***.
Edit: Here's some info on a '97 M3 5speed: http://www.fast-autos.net/bmw/bmwm3.html
And here's a video (over 7 Megs, just a FYI) of a guy with a Saturn ION RedLine (cool little cars IMO), practically stock, nearly pulling on a stock '95 M3 5speed: (it's the second race... notice the RedLine puttin' up a fight against the LT1 Z A4 'vert!!): https://home.comcast.net/~rathershort/bretts2races.mpg
So yeah: this race will be a piece of cake, and if you can get him to, should be an easy as hell money maker.

He probably, at most has a 328i, meaning it has a 2.8L V-6, rated I believe at 200-210hp. Those motors aren't meant for anytype of racing, just good highway cruising. This "friend" is a complete tool. His car doesn't even stand a chance against a mustang much less a f-bod. Tell him his car is fake, sorry, but it's not an M3.
Radical, yes, but the concept found favor with top management, and the first-ever four-door M3 joined the lineup for the '97 model year. In the U.S., at least, the experiment was a success. Even though the four-door E36 went out of production in May 1998 to make room for the new E46 3-series sedans, 7760 were sold in 1997 and '98, accounting for more than 46 percent of M3 sales in the U.S. for those two years.

Yep, they definitely made 4-door M3's starting in '97. I've seen quite a few of them: they're alrighty lookin'.
This one's a car model, but still:
Anyways... good LORD this guy is in for some *** whoopin'. I didn't know it was a 4door until now.
So let's see: we've got the ol' 245 h.p. M3, automatic, 4-door, stock... Is this guy retarded??

the guy who owned my 95 formula A4 before me, raced the same M3 twice and beat him both times so you shouldnt have a problem. Also, the newer M3's have sumptin like 333HP but I think there torque is like 280ish and ur running 325ftlbs stock and torque wins races so i think your set!

^ It'd be a damn close race, but the LS1 would prevail. From a dig, it'd be a tough call because they hit 60 at roughly the same time our cars do (4.9 seconds), but they don't have the top end that the LS1 does, so the farther you go, the more you'll pull.
