Default Me Vs HOSS and WS6

So I went ahead and did some driving around last night and ran across a couple guys on 72 near madison. One was driving an orange SS and the other was driving a silver firebird ws6. I pulled into the BP on 72 and asked the guy in the SS if he wanted to race. He was pretty reluctant at first, and it took some convincing to finally get him out there. We agreed on a spot to race and headed out there.

first race was from a 40 kick and i think i may have jumped a little cause by the top of 4th i had about 8 cars on him. So he lined them up again and i let him get the jump this time. It was a slightly closer race but in the end (top of 4th) i had the better part of 5 cars on the guy. So he told me he'd go from a stop and i of course agreed. we came to a stop sign and i honked three times. I got alittle excited and gave it too much clutch and i ended up lighting up all four tires and getting a bit sideways. However i stayed inthe throttle and managed at least 7 cars by the top of third. I pull up next to the guy in the ws6 and ask if he wnated to race. He agrees and i tell him to honk three times and we'd go. well for some reason he couldn't honk so he jsut told me he'd give me the jump. I didn't think it was very fair, but there really wasnt much time for debate. I launched and once again by the top of third id say i had at least 10 cars on him.

We pulled into walmart and some of their friends arrived, they told me i should race a guy in an orange SRT-4 that hangs out at some spot. I might have if i had more gas but i was on E.

Anyways that was my fun for the night. good races.

Whats so funny? Do you know how to do math?

90 mph = 132 feet per second.

How long is a car? Id say on average about 10-12 feet

133/12 = 11

WOW so according to logic a 13 second car getting beat by a 12 second car would be losing by approximately 11 car lengths.

open mouth, insert foot there dal ***

That's not how it works. In order to get distance between two cars you have to integrate the difference in relative velocity between the two. A more accurate way would be to double integrate the difference in acceleration.

Here's a mathematically correct rough estimate (assuming constant difference in acceleration).
1/4 mi. trap speed difference (EVO-Fbod): 117-107 = 10 mph
1/4 mi. trap speed difference in ft/s: 10(mi/hr)*3280(ft/mi)*(1hr/3600sec) = 9.111ft/sec
Integrate speed for race duration (assume 1/4 mi = 12 sec for you)
Distance difference = 9.111ft/sec*12.0 sec = 109.33 ft
Carlenghts = 109.33ft/12(ft/carlenght) = 9.11 carlenghts

So at the end of the 1/4 you would have ~9 cars on a stock or lightly modded F-bod. I you only ran up to 90mph (your approx. 1/8 mi. trap), then you would have 4.5 carlengths on him.

Anyways, good kill.

Ok to settle this he can race me. I will count the bus lengths and then we can convert it to car lengths hows that for math? I'll even pull over and do the math while I wait for you to catch up.
Just kidding, fast evo I will run you though????whenever your ready?

Are you racing on Ice Dirt or snow, maybe oil? I know you've got a fast car, but wtf lighting them all up? I dont think John Shepard has these problems.
