My BLOWN 436 VS old school FORD GT40
ok, AS I was pulling into the gym the other day this guy is pulling out of the restoration building he owns right beside me in a Ford GT40 white with the blue stripes..He rolls down the window and says "this is the slow one" stating that he has another one that is black with silver stripes..well by now Im like "oh ****" can I look in it he says go ahead, so i drop my stuff, and without even touching the car i just stick my head in the window, and look around...after admiring it for a while, he asked me what I had in mine, and i told him it was a blown 436 running 16lbs of boost with methanol injection..So this is where it gets fun..He asks me if i would like to run them sometime, me vs the fast one..Now i dont know what he's got in it but i know the original ones are no slouches..but i do think I might actually be able to win...First Im going to find out what the "fast one" has in it b4 i take that challenge but if for nothing else i want to see what it can do..let me know what you guys think, and with my setup *pending what he has* do you think i have enough to win? and yes im definately going to bring a camera with me

I say go for it. he might be just tryin to get in your head. You should have plenty of power to give him a great run if he has anything worthy.
Definitely go buy some mickey thompson dr's so traction won't be an issue.
get it on video if you can.

Like someone already said, just make sure you have the right tires and you'll really give him a run for his money. You already have to know you stand a chance if he challenged you with the faster one, after you told him what you had.

Holy crap is all I can say about your dyno #'s. My GN is sick and onnly turns 740+ at 24#'s with more in it obviously, but your engine is just plain nice and you will smoke him so Baaaaaaaadddddd, it woulnt even be funny. He is lucky if he is pushing 500 rwhp. possibly less, which is still awsome, but nothing in the same ball park as yours.

Is this for $ ?
'Cause if its not why even hesitate?
This guy has two original GT40's? That is extrodinary! If memory serves me correct they were ~400HP and only a handfull were built. No way he modified it. I ran along side one at an open track event. I was too worried to even try to get close. I didnt want to accidently take it out.

Your absolutely gonna spank his GT40's like they've never been spanked before. They make maybe 425 rwhp and if memory serves me correctly weigh about 2900 lbs. Not slow by any means, but not EVEN in the same ballpark as you. Once you hook up, you're GONE

Im running a single 96MM turbo from precision turbo, rated at i believe 1775hp at the flywheel..the question about the spray, yeah i've thought about running it something simple like a 50shot, which from what i've seen will actually net me closer to 75 or 80 extra horses. Now that i've had time to think about this race, i know that my only problem in the race isnt going to be losing, its going to be hooking..Im breaking traction if i nail it going 70mph down the highway, so thats why im going to put the slicks on it and well see if that will help. the suspension is set up so that the front end wont lift. sorta of like the heavily moddified corvettes they just squat and go. But yeah I told my friend about this race, and he told me that he would ride with me and bring his camera..so its going to be on film..the other thing that gets me though is the fact that the GT40's weigh next to nothing, and with all the mods i've done to lighten my car its still a pig compared to that thing 3400lbs* with me in it. but thanks again guys for the confidence boosters
