I should be a real good race. X-pipes give our cars 15-20hp and should keep it close.

I wouldn't put any money on it.

If the Mach is on regular factory tires it should be a close race or you with the win (given equal drivers which is usually not the case).

If the Mach is on DR's and/or has gears watch out...

But thats with the regular saleen s/c, this was a saleen with an aftermarket Vortech s/c, plus, as I stated he was in the Mach1 with his friend which added an additional 240lbs to his friends race weight. Also, I am pretty sure these were roll races. Even the regular s/c saleen puts down about 350rwhp. His car is supposedly bone stock so figure about 290rwhp at most. And they supposedly beat the saleen badly?? No way. The only thing I could think is remotely possible is maybe the races were from a stop and the other guys were just spinning and or missed a gear or else they werent even racing.

regarding LS1's vs Mach1's, I have seen a lot of numbers on Mach1's and I also feel that there's a slight nod to stock LS1 fbod's. Ultimately though its just a drivers race stock for stock.

If he is in fact bone stock, than the only chance this guy has against me is off the line if I spin or screw up the launch. The one thing that sucks for me is my TQ Arm is broken and my car has never been tuned. It will be once I get the cam in though

not considering the 03/04 cobra mustangs usually dont make as much power, its the suspension and tires of mustangs (not cobras) that wins the race at the drag strip....

as far as spanking my car, you should since you have a lot more money parts and time invested, let me do some things to my car and then we'll race, but not from a stop, where you have a huge advantage over most street cars.....i wish you were in st louis so i could show you all of these rad camaros and trans ams that could spank you, show you how slow your mach 1 is

You are right. A stock Mach 1 has no chance againest a ZO6...period and very little chance againest a SC Saleen. Sounds like the guy is f*cking with your head a little bit.

How do I have an advantage over most street cars.. My car has 100% stock suspention, I just use ET Streets and welds at the track.. All it has is full exhaust, gears, and a CAI.. How is that alot of mods.. Hell I barly make over 310rwhp... My car is not a track car its a street car that I take to the track to race everyonce in a while.. You could put full exhaust, gears,and a CAI on your car too and I would still beat you..

I feel your pain!! I would be mad too if GM let me down by not producing an affordable sports car for the mainstream market. Just don't take it out on us Ford owners. J/K

I owned a T/A before buying the Mach and loved it. Horsepower is horsepower no matter who manufactures it.

No 1/4 mile time but I do have alot of 1/8 mile times which are from 7.6's to 7.8's most of the time, between 87-89mph.. I should be able to see some 7.5's once the weather gets better and some 90mph trap speeds..

I am not an 1/8th mile fan, I think thats like making pro-fights 1 or 2 rounds long. Its ends just when you're getting started.
Anyhow, what would/should that translate into for a 1/4 mile time & speed

Just like W.T.M. Said.. My car should be able to run high 11's around 112-115mph... Depending on the weather... I have already ran some 12.2's at 111 with just minor modds done and that was about a year ago... The car has alot more mods now and it's alot faster and making alot more power then it did back when I was running 12.2's.. I'll run at the Texas Motorplex out in Ennis when it opens up sometime next month and see what it will run, it's a 1/4 mile track as you know...

Just hard to grasp that high 11's @ 115 is possible with 310rwhp, unless it's in an miata. What is your race weight? Is your car lightened?

It is in race trim.. I think it weighs around 3150lbs at race weight.. It has a little more then 310rwhp.. Those where my old dyno #'s and I have added a few things since then that has picked up some more power.. Look at Anguss he is running high 11's with about the same power.. You see I make all of my power work for me and I can get it all to the ground, which most people can't do, and that is why they run slower times..

ahhhh, that explains it. I am probably 3800lbs race weight. Thats just cuz muscle weighs more than fat though
