TT 350Z VS SuperCharged Camaro SS
So coming from a huge car meet last night at Elcamino and Lawrence Starbucks in the bay area, a friend of mine ( the Z owner ) ran into a Mustang Cobra and asked him if he wanted to run. The guy said no because he wasnt tuned but said to "run his boy" and then a Camaro SS pulled up. The camaro was loud and supercharged. They head to the freeway and the first race was form a 40 mph roll, second gear. After that, they exit and my friend asked him how much power he was making, the guy replied 525rwhp. The guy in the camaro then said he wanted to do a 60 mph roll, so they headed back to the freeway. They ended up actually running from about 55mph which put the Z at a low RPM.
Here are the vids...
My friends Z is making 560rwhp in 90 degree weather @ only 15psi. The car will soon have a new fuel system, a diff set of cams, and near 10psi more boost
40MPH roll
http://media.putfile.com/40mph ( he said sorry about all the yelling after this race. He was just all excited that he was able to beat such a fast car )
55MPH roll

All in great fun Good race! Great times.

I love your Z! So, please don't be offended:
I highly doubt that Camaro was putting out 525 rwhp. With the 560 rwhp you claim, I knew you were gonna dust him before I even downloaded the vid, but IF your car is at 560 rwhp, taking alot else for granted, I know, the race should have been closer IMO. OR, then your car has over 600 rwhp, one or the other.
With the Z having the 560 you say, I'd guess that was a full-bolt and mildly cammed LS1. Is it possible the Camaro guys were bragging too much, overestimating? So many people do that...
Not that it matters. With your Z, if it was 525 rwhp anyway, he was going to AND got his *** handed to him. Good kill.

The Camaro was supercharged, My friend says he is 100% sure and he could hear it. He use to own a Z06 and knows the cars pretty well..
Perhaps they did over estimate the power? And like I said, my friends Z made that power in 90 degree weather in the middle of the day.
He says thanks for the compliments.

not bad. I also say that camaro guy was BSing about 550whp. If he was making that much it would have been a lot closer, but he still would have lost. In second video, you can see that he gave up as 350z put 2 cars on him.
How much money did your friend put into that Z? Gotta be forged bottom end to make this kind of power.
There is a video of a bunch of cars racing in our video section where Cammed formula with bolt ons beating tt 350z with 8psi.

The Camaro was supercharged... Think what you guys will. I doubt any SC camaro is not making good power. The guy may be bs'ing about 525rwhp though who knows.
His Z is on a forged bottom end and 15psi for now.

daaaaaaamn good kill, i too doubt the z28 is making that much power, with a sc alone the z28 would be making about 400-415 rwhp not 525 , nevertheless great kill. i'm in the bay area also, and work in mountain view, hope i get a chance to smoke you i know i don't stand a chance but i would run you anyway

I never posted that the money wouldn't be well spent or anything like that... don't remember posting that, nope...
Anyway, I posted that so that some people realize that a Z going that fast took some hard work to do so, and money, to promote simple appreciation for the 350Z, that's all. I like the car quite a bit myself.
It really is so much cheaper to do with an LS1. Sometimes I catch myself bitching about some of the things I've been buying, but I really shouldn't be.
