I Hate Cocky 5.0 Owners!!!!

Personally I am not a big Ford fan, There are way too many 5.0's around this area. I have only seen a few that are fast, or descent at that, thumbs up to them!! Most of them are basically stock and all beat up. I guess every one get them because they are so cheap. Young guys go from driving thier moms mini-van, to a 5.0 with more torque, and they feel on top of the world. The thing that I hate the most is that guys over here get stock 5.0's and put a cowl hood, some Cobra wheels and they think that they can smoke anything. The only thing that they are gonna smoke is thier engine!!!
My younger brother really want's to get a 5.0, but it's okay, he is just one more confused kid that think that 5.0 means: Really Fast Car.. I am gonna have to let him drive the SS, so he will know what 5.7 means..

^^ Exactly most of them don't even know anything about cars, especially thier car. It's is cool if you have a fast 5.0, then go right ahead and talk all the **** you want. But if it a P.O.S then calm down. The most stupid comment I always get from Mustang owners in the bay is: " Oh **** you have an SS, you'll smoke me. But if it was a Z28 I would kick it's ***." They don't now what the hell they are talking about. But I guess there are a lot of dumb-asses, not matter what car they drive.

My friend with the bolt-on 5.0 claimed 14.0, did not ask him the MPH, and on the SRT4 he claimed to pull a little bit at every shift. I dont know if he lied or not, he really isnt that into things, so i dont see why he would. Against a poor SRT4 driver, i can see it.

well what i think all of this comes down to stock vs. stock, a stock ls1 will inevatibly smoke anything in its class, you can throw around mods all you want BUT ls1's rule the domestic 15,000-30,000 bracket, if my car can smoke a cts-v stock , well thats better to me than any modified mustang or v6 , whatever, you can modifify ANYTHING, with 30,000 i could turn a camery into a aircraft, but why would i want to?

Some cars have more affinity for mods than others. That is why some are popular and others are not. A TT M6 supra is not that fast stock, but with a few mods...yeah. Besides, some people actually LIKE to mod their cars.

oh no don't get me wrong, modified cars are great but all i was saying is, stock vs. stock , the ls1's have more bang. start with an already fast car stock , and build, it really doesn't matter , you can modifify anything as long as you know what you're doing, you just have to know a bit more when you're doing it to a computer controlled v-8, it takes alot more percision . ppl spend thousands upon thousands of dollars buying parts or paying other ppl , to do to their car what they do with the resources they have avalible to them. i don't even think we've spent more than 5,000 on our car (thats including up keep and replacing normal wear and tear) and its impresivly quick , even for a ls1

I spent a total of about 4K under the hood. That includes the new block/new internals/new fuel system/new ECU (stock 89 A9L, mass air conversion). My car is probably about = to an LS1. I spent about 2200 in the tranny tunnel, that includes swapping out my automatic for a 0-mile TKO500. All in all, that is close to 5K and includes a 100% new drivetrain. And no, there was no tuining involved with the computer. The 89-93 mustang EEC-IV A9(x) series computers are well known for adjusting to anything you want to throw at them except VERY RADICAL cams or boost.

If you are going to act, either bcak it up or STFU, just like what happened today, pulled next to an LT1 vette planning to kill the thing...looked down at his fender and saw ZR1...immediately moved on. His rear tires DID look a tad big, and the little roll bar thing above/behind the seats looked odd in a hard-top. I think discretion was the better part of valor in this case.
