HA!

Jesus, man... Do you have any grasp of logic?

If you maintain that altruism may result in the preservation of an incompetent entity by the actions/interventions of an altruistic agent, do you not see where that leaves you?

Self-preservation? Uh, hello? Do I have to write it?

May the preservation of an incompetent entity not also result from SELF-PRESERVATION?

I'm with you, there are alot of stupid people out there, but all of them want to live. So they lie, cheat, steal, hold up convenience stores... Do I need to keep going? Crime and deceit are alternative measures for survival when competence does not ensure it due to its (competence's) being insufficient, e.g. an individual is not competent enough to hold a steady job, so... and you know the rest.

SO I CAN BLAME SELF-PRESERVATION FOR THE PRESENCE OF ABUNDANT, INCOMPETENT INDIVIDUALS! You can't lay it all on altruism when your OWN argument applies to S.P. as well.

They should just wake up and say, "I'm going to shoot myself today. I'm not smart enough to have progeny containing my genetic information. So, I've lead a life of celibacy, have no children, and now I will go somewhere quiet to commit suicide." The incompetent people don't quite think this way, do they? You see they have this little quality that stops them from thinking this way called...

SELF-PRESERVATION! D'oh

Come on, man... Are you some racist living in the mid-west still waiting on an update about the WWII war effort? Open up a book and read sometime. Altruism may one day be a factor in your own survival. If there's one thing history's taught us is that medicine, language, technology (like the computer you're using to post), sophisticated culture and arts, all have advanced by the accomplishments of a technician/artist... standing on the shoulders of THOUSANDS! People need each other. Altruism (Self-preservation, too.) has created you and the world you live in. Give me a break.

Edit: If you're so competent, you'd be disappointed to know it's NOT spelled "incompitent." I don't generally speak about people's spelling, but you're supposed to be so competent. I expected a higher level of articulation.

I won't stop and help some stranger if I see them crash. If I have my cell on me, I'll call 911, but other than that they are on their own. Unless the car is on fire, then maybe.
A few years ago there was a bad crash around here. Some girl in HS was speeding, lost control of the car and hit some trees. A guy saw it, helped her out of the car, but then later gets sued from the girls parents. Last I knew the guy was found guilty for something. I think it was something along the lines of he was not qualified to pull her out of the car, and "caused more pain and sufferning" to their daughter.

I am sorry but the word moron comes to mind when someone 20 years of age is preaching life lessons and then talks about driving around the man and making fun of him. It seems you have learned little in life as of yet. If that was me, you would be dead. Thus giving a very real reason to not stop. An angry pissed off Viper driver with a gun in his posession. Been there, done that. I have been shot at twice in real life situations. None dealing with road racing however, both very real and very scary. Again some valid concerns for not stopping and some good dialogue, however, we all knew there would be a bonehead in the crowd. ALWAYS IS. Sorry whisper, I know it seems personal but it is just the remarks that sent me off this time. I am sure you are a good person. Well, I hope so. By the way what did the viper owner do that was so stupid? Step on the gas rounding a corner. You have never done that? I agree he was a numnut if he did this and just took ownership of a nasty 500hp vehicle, but what if he owned another viper and just bought this one on a swap or something. Deep pockets as previously stated. By the way (deep pockets) another real reason for not stopping, MAYBE? Not sure on that one yet. Dr.Bigg has seen many accidents and most are not very fun to look at for the patients involved. Saying that, I still get on the gas pedal a time or two. I have had the z06 up to 172 on I95 in the sunny state of florida. No one else around except my buddy in his 300z, 1990 twin turbo about 2 car lengths back coming up on me at about 179mph. He was flying and I let off. I was scared he wasn't. Too fast for me. Never again. Dr.Bigg

Wow, you assesed my financial situation and intelligence by a post on the internet...that takes quite an intellect...either that or someone who eats paint chips and chases traffic for fun. By the way, dolt, you got my age wrong as well. Isnt it sad when someone at my age shows more respect for a vehicle than someone who was financially 'responsible' enough to buy an 80,000$ sports car? Oh and lets not forget the intelligent comment of 'If it was you, I would be dead.' It really takes someone who was dropped frequently as a baby to try and take a 'mature' stance against someone else's opinion and make a comment like that. So you would take a human life for someone ridiculing you over your own stupidity? What a sad life you live. Its also a bad assumption to think you are the only one who travels armed as well there, Bub.

On a side note, what is it with you referring to yourself in the third person?
