Default Lost to a srt4

On Wednesday I raced a Srt4 with a wastegate mod, he said his boost was set at 17psi, and some other mod in the front of the car, don't remember might have been an intercooler. Anyways we went out to the normal spot and out to the 1/4 mile marker we have the normal flagger, flag the race. Off the line he gets me about 1/2 a car, by about 60-70 he had a car to a car and a half on me and held that to the end of the quarter mile. We continued to 110mph when it looked like i was reeling him in, but he stoppedm. Then I said lets go again to 130mph, he ended up holding it all the way to 130mph and pulling on me some more got like 2-2.5 cars on me then, but i let off the gas at 100mph cuz it felt like i hit a bump, then I floored it again to 130mph. Damn those lil cars are fast. I'm driving an all stock '98 Ls1 T/A, with stock 2.73 gears. What would happen if I got some 3.73 gears? What would I need to do as far as mods other than nitrous to take him next time? I removed nitrous from the list of mods cuz i never want nitrous in my car.

Because my dad will install all the mods to my car for free if I buy the parts, he is a mechanic and has been since he was 20 years old to now 50years old, and he don't wanna install nitrous on any cars we ever get. Most I could talk him into is maybe a 50-75 shot.

N20 messes **** up from what I have seen, I personally refuse to run it as well. The potential to mess it up is also magnified. Even with direct port, the pro 5.0 guys running it end up doing 2x the rebuilds the NA/Turbo/SC guy's do. It jsut wears stuff out MUCH faster if anything else. That mixture is almost identical to cutting torch fuel.

Ftra, lid, cut out, ported throttle body, underdrive pulley, i think ls6 intake is a must also, should be plenty to take him next time. maybe even drag radials if your tires are getting worn out,

Gears can get you over half a second depending. They did a test with an old 5.0 and 2.73 to 3.73 and got something like .4 in the 1/8th with just that. Then again, law of diminishing returns.

What tires is he running to get you off the line? He shouldn't be at all unless he's an outstanding driver.

tell your dad you want to run a redundant fuel line, and tell him not to hook it up to anything, just to run it from the engine bay to the fuel tank. Then run the lines like you want. The lines are the hardest part.

Get a tuner to get the window switch setup.

Then tell your dad you want a switch for neons or something inconsequential installed, again to the engine bay but not hooked up to anything. There's your arm switch.
