last night, a buddy of mine and me pulled intoa used car lot to check out a 96 supra. As we are there, this guy pulls up and looks at the car with us. I tell the guy that the car has def been painted and hit on the drivers side but it looked like it was repaired right and nothing was leaking or anything underneith. The guy gets all cocky and tell me how good and how long the supra will last.. And then says he already has a 95 turbo 6 speed 1,000HP and lives local to me. ive never ever seen or heard about the car and ive lived here 22 years. Said it was some porshe blue special color and he had a custom wide body kit and custom offset wheels. I simply said we'll if we ever end up on 202 side by side, that we would have to find out how much power he actually makes But lets just say that the guy really does have this car, how would I do against him?

If you go from a dig on motor, no matter what your gonna be atleast two seconds in front of him, regardless if he has 1000 hp or not. They all run twelves man, for the most part. There is the occasional fast one but,....not sporting a body kit. lol.

1000 hp is not hard to belive though, in a supra.

I figure if hes not full of crap that he wont be able to hook at all. I know that supras can hit 1000hp but are known as dyno queens and cant put it to the ground.

I agree, supra guys talk alot of smack. One of my good friends has a 88 or 89 Supra with a single turbo 3 litre, he also has 3.73's, and claims 450hp. I told him I might have 325, this is before headers. We raced from a dead stop, and I murdered him. At least 8 or 9 cars by 100. After the race, he said his Turbo wasn't turned up. IMO, yes it can have 450 hp, but not on 9lbs of boost, which is all he can run; so why say it has 450hp? I don't know much about Turbo cars, but I would race him just to see if he was all talk.

When I get the tape back, I'll post the video.

Ive put 1200 miles on the car in one year. its my baby and I love it dearly but I just dont see the paying so much for a car I rarely use. Plus I plan on getting a nice house within a year so Im going to use the left over cash to put in a IRA or CD and within a year I hope to put down 100,000 on a house

i got my as spanked by a supra once, he had 750rwhp. But most guys i meet with supras are just punk kids that think they got fastest car on the road and dont have the ***** to prove. There normally full of ****.

Supras can run decent times and insane traps, but they are not drag cars for sure. The pro cars tend to have some trick suspension setups, very different than you will find on a street car.

Not that the Supra in question exists, but run him from a dig for a set distance. If he can hook, 1000 would be pretty nasty given hes got the 50 shot to spool it or a launch system. The average dyno queen sometimes has the shot. But even a dyno queen Supra is going to be running faster than 12.0 with anything room tempeture or higher IQ driving.

Hes a big talker, I bet on you winning by virtue of the fact that your not lying and actually have a car. Next most likely is you winning because he has a stock Nissan Setra. Next is you winning against a stock non-turbo. Subsequently, way out in la-la unlikely land is you winning because he is still on the stock twins and cant drive (stock twins have run 10s though). And out in the realm of only possible when you are hanging out on the edge of a time warping black hole in another dimension is you loosing.

I really hope this "race" happens. It would be really funny. Or just kinda sad. Watching a 408 beat up on some FWD is like watching Lennox Lewis beat the **** out of some trash-talking drunk. Its funny, but you feel a lot of pity too. Kinda ruins it.

That myth is BS that all supras run 12's. There is a red one that goes to Atco and runs 10's all day. That car sounds awesome too. Oh, he has no body kit, lol.

I know I am saying this to a bunch of non-believing, import hating morons, but I am going to say it anyway.

1.
If the car is 1000 hp, it will kick your ***.

2.
Supra's with 1000 hp do not run 12's with someone who can shift gears. If the car has 1000 hp, they probably know how to drive.

3.
Just because it has a body kit, does not mean its slow or riced. Widebody's are used to be able to fit wider tires. 335's are a normal tire for Widebody Supras.

4.
Supras are not just dyno queens. They all can make a ton of power. Don't be jealous. Ryan Woon's Auto Full weight car runs 8.4 with 1100 hp. His 6-speed car runs 8.6 full weight. Seriously, how can you hate on that.

5.
Why do all of you act like this? Does it really hurt you that bad that Supra's are sweet *** cars, that can make a shitload of power and beat LS1's everyday? I own a damn LS1, love the ******* motors, but I have respect for all cars. Seriously guys, think before you speak.

YEAH.. ...I know a guy who has a '97 Supra....730 RWHP...he runs low 10's at our local strip ALL summer long.
