Well last night around midnight or so I pull into a Chevron to get some gas and the pump across from me is two guys with a blue 350Z and their other friends in a black 350Z. Well I start putting gas in and decide to check my oil to make sure it was good, even though I had changed it a week earlier. Well as I'm checking my oil, all four guys walk over and start looking under my hood. They ask me if its fast, and I tell them it alright fast. Well the friend who was riding in the black 350Z said I heard these Cobras are slow because the supercharger doesnt make any power until 3000rpm and because these things are heavy as ****. So I ask maybe we should find out. So he laughs and says well maybe you should race the blue one and see how bad he beats you off the line, and so I look over at it and it has some Nitto drag radials on it. So I then laugh and being sarcastic say damn Ill never catch traction with these tires. They look over and see that they are BFG drag radials. Well they still want to try. So we go to a back road, and line them up. First race he jumped early and got a car on me, but i caught his pull and whooped him by 6-7 cars easily letting off early. He tells me he messed up and wants to try again. This time he launchs on me by a fender, but I immediately stop that and pull him again by 6-7 cars letting off early.. Well we come back to the gas station, and I see what he has. Just has intake and exhaust like me and the DR's. He then told me, his friend would race me in his 350Z for money. I told him Ill do it for $150 and we are racing tonight. I hope they know I was letting off early, LOL.

My uncle had surgery and couldnt drive stick no more. Well being how I would always be over and talking with him. He decided to give it to me.

Yeah because then the 350 will only lose by 2 cars with the TT.

Even if he hooks up a nitrous kit today you've got 'em covered.

I raced a 350 while in my Firehawk from 2nd gear till half way into 4th. I had almost two bus lengths and growing. We raced again, same thing. He then traded his car and 3 weeks later we raced his new "touring edition" with 3pc rims and..... same 2 bus lengths.

I ran one from a dig on my street tires last week and put a few buses on him Those things are slow and the people that own them swear they are fast.

they just have something to prove, i guess

Well were not all that dumb to know that a 03-04 cobra would whoop a bolted on Z lol. Those are sweet cars but the Z definitely will need a SC or a turbo in order to do and damage to you. Good luck on the race.

Any "true" import guy should know things like this. Lest the driver of the cobra is just bad at driving. Which in this case, ... is not the case...

I will have un update later after we race tonight. Its only 5:30pm right now and we are suppost to race around 11 or so. But thanks for all the info guys. I was thinking that it had nitrous, but we'll see.

Alright guys, we raced but didnt have no camera, sorry. Well heres how it went. Me and 4 of my friends were out that night and pull into the gas station at 11 as we had planned and the guys were already there in the 350Z's. I pull in and park across from the white 350Z that I'm going to race. Well I start talking to him and asks him what he has under the hood and he says not much but wouldnt tell me. I ask him to pop the hood and he wouldnt. So as I like at his back rims, I notice they have DR's on them and think to myself he probably borrowed them from the other 350Z. So Im like were going for $150 right, and he says yah and shows me the money and I show him my money. So as were going to the back road to race me and my friend are discussing what it has and come to the conclusion that it probably has nitrous because we didnt hear no turbo or s/c. They want to go best 2 out of 3 and I said I'm fine with that. First race I jump on him by a car and win by 5 car lengths or so. I was thinking this guy cant be serious. So we go to the second run and this time I get about half a car on the launch but still beat him by 4-5 cars. Well I come back and my friend asks who won and I say me, and they ask the 350Z owner and he says the same. Well after some time of them whining (or my car whining, s/c, LOL) they finally pay up. We go back to the gas station and they ask if I did anything else to the car since earlier today. I tell them exactly like this... "No but earlier when I raced you guys, I was letting off and sandbagging on you guys". All my friends started laughing and I pump in $25 of gas and we all leave. Pretty good night.
