Haha.

"As it is, this sports car could keep us endlessly entertained. For most people, there is little need to modify our RX-7 for enhanced performance. In the present form, it is far beyond the performance capabilities of anything this side of the $100,000 Porsche 911 Turbo."

You're an FD enthusiast...

Your opinion on the following question will be ENTIRELY more valid than anyone else's:

What would be your "guesstimation," if you don't already know, on what a stock FD would run at the Thunderhill raceway?
I have had a FD before, and ran tracks. I have read an article where they actually ran a stock FD at Thunderhill. I think is was in SCC, but I don't recall the times.

It's also ironic that people who actually know what they're talking about in LS1 speak, people who know their way around an LS1 engine, are being labelled "import trolls".

Would anyone like a roadrace specific LS1 cam grind? I can specify one for you.

I'm not really sure how what I said was ironic but hey, whatever floats your boat. I loved my STI and my 450hp GSX, but hated all the 16-19 yr old degenerates that flood the import scene and give it a bad name with there retarded driving and ricer flybys....I could go on forever. And I never called any LS1 owner a troll if that was in reference to me. I feel several LS1 owners need to come out of the woodshed and realize there are other car's out there as good as or better than the F-body platform which in stock form is not all that impressive handling wise anywyay. I think the problem is they have never driven one of the real Japanese imports. My cousin had an EVO as well which ive driven. I've also been in a Supra which was pretty impressive as well.

WTF are you on? I said it's ironic that you, "just hate the import scene due to the retards with no car knowledge and degenerate fan boys," only to come here and have domestic degenerate fanboy's around. Read some of my posts, I was agreeing with you. Apparently, reading comprehension owns you, too. I don't know what you think floats my boat but I think the captain of yours is passed out, drunk.

Easy bud, no need to get your panties in a bundle. By stating it was ironic was an open ended statement. Usually when I state I love all cars but hate the import scene everyone jumps down your neck stating I am not a real enthusiast due to that particular logic. That was how I interpreted it, nothing more nothing less. Now that you have cleared that up in such a pleasant manner, I see what you were implying. No need to insult me or my intelligence or anyone for that matter. Have a nice day

My day is quite nice. Thank you. You made an assumption and jumped on the INCORRECT interpretation of what I posted... How the hell are my panties in a bunch?

I said it's ironic that you, "just hate the import scene due to the retards with no car knowledge and degenerate fan boys," only to come here and have domestic degenerate fanboy's around.
You are welcome to explain how anything there was open-ended. I would like to know.

I didn't mean to insult you at all, just a little internet humor between people on the same side, I thought... But don't fret, since my panties are not in a bunch, neither are yours, the fact that we don't even wear panties, and since we're on the same side concerning the foregoing topics/themes, I am now prompted to return some "internet-common pleasantries" to you: THANK YOU DRIVE THRU COME AGAIN, etc.

I will be more careful with future jests that would humorously poke at your intelligence... Won't happen again.

Ahhh to hell with it, we agree in principle anyway. I was replying to the "irony owns you" statement from the first reply not your second reply in which you clarified your point. I should have been more specific, my bad. To be honest it seems like the car community is a warzone with all the import vs domestic non-sense. I cant even attend Domestic car gatherings as they bash cars they dont own, have not driven and know nothing about. Either way I dont want you think I was jumping down your neck or anything. And thanks for the internet pleasantries. LOL

There is one car meet here I starting going to (for anyone in the Miami area it's www.speedstyleandperformance.com), and the people there are owners of all types of vehicles (mostly GM, though). We meet up, talk about our cars, learn about them, and go for a cruise... Yeah, I got tired of the car meets with little "camps." It sucks to hang around with a bunch of people that don't respect each other... Hate that.

First of all there is no 800lb difference. A stock 2001 Trans Am weighs 3397, and a 1995 RX-7 weighs 2900. Thats a difference of 497lbs, not 800lbs.

So figuring in the WHP numbers that you provided, the Trans Am has a power/weight ratio of 10.95lbs/HP, while the RX-7 has a power/weight 12.8lbs/HP. Thats a significant advantage on the part of the F-Body.

Yes please? I'm interested to see what would constitute a good cam for road racing. You can PM me if you want, so that we don't derail this useful, useful thread.

My tag said 2815 for my RX-7. I had the heavier model. My dads Z says 3483. Looks like a lot more to me. Which is why 7's run 13.5's, and F-bods run 13.2's on average. I said the F-bods are a bit faster in the 1/4 now didn't I.
